Help!! Top plug problem!

I was changing the oil in my forks last weekend and I made a big oops.
I somehow boogered up the threads where the top plug screws into an outer tube. It'll screw in to a point and then it just spins.
Should a machine shop be able to fix this pretty easily? I've called around in my town and they don't do metric. I'm going to call around in Tulsa on Tuesday.
Is there an easier fix?

Are you talking about the air bleeder screw?

No.
The top plug that you unscrew to take the spring out.

Oh, that plug or the fork cap, might be able to find you a used tube and cap. I have some parts for a 96kx.(somewhere) I'll check the size.
