Faast Co. Bar Inserts

I just recently purchased bar inserts for a 2005 YZ250. I got them in, however the throttle tube doesnt fit right on the bar insert.
The throttle tube just doesnt slide as far down on the handlebars when the insert is in. The little piece of bar insert that is sticking out stop it from going on to where it used to be.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.

You'll have to move the whole throttle assembly down a bit to accommodate the end of the inserts.

I did but it could only go so far until there is no play in the throttle. I was thinking of cutting open the end of the throttle tube so it fits around the end of the bar insert.
Would that be O.K?

Did you adjust the free-play of your cable to loosen it back up? You should be able to cut off the end of the throttle tube with no problem. I believe that's what trail riders do when they install the wrap-around handguards.
