Which is better in terms of comfort, feel, and do they itch and make u sweat alot???

Posted by: ellandoh---------------------

thor is a little warm but comfy- i hear fox's are a little fragile
i reply to your other thread also

Posted by: Kav---------------------

I hae the fox ones, the main issue I don't like about them is if they have the metal screws holding thme together then they fall apart fast. Fox sells replacment plastic rivites for about $3 that work great. But I don't think I sould have ever had to deal with that to begine with

are knee and elbow guards worth wearing even for trail riding everyday???

Posted by: ellandoh---------------------

if you are on a cr250 and pushing the limit..........you probably know the answer already

one well placed rock or root and your kneecap is in 2 pieces

ive got a bad wrist so i try not to take a full out blow to it and elbow pads are very necessary to take some of the hit

I've only worn my elbow pads a couple of times, but I feel knee pads are mandatory equipment for myself. Any time you dump your bike your knees are one of the most likely things to hit the ground and knee pads can make a huge difference.

thx guys i think im gonna buy both

by the end of the week my brother will own a z400 with over 1000 dollars in extras and i will get a chance to ride that if i choose not to like it as much as i think i would like a bike my dad will most likely get me the cr250 probly a 2002 or 2001 and i will have to get all the gear.

as of now i have afancy shmancy helmet with spy goggles.
i have 2 pairs of axo and fox pants
i have the jerseys
all i need to buy now is forma pro boots(white), a chest protector(dont know which one yet), and with the help of u guys in making the decision some rapter elbow and force knee pads

Posted by: Stryke---------------------

what do u think is the best chest protector in terms of overall comfort protection and everything. do u think its the airframe(fox), the r3 roost deflector(fox), or the thor force protector???

Posted by: ellandoh---------------------

ive got the thor force , am very happy with it but didnt really shop it so know nothing of the other ones

Posted by: Kav---------------------

I have a Thor Aftershock, I liked it after I pulled off the arm guards. (they were getting in my way for riding) But like Ellandoh I didn't reall shop around for one either

I have a sixsixone pressure suit and it has the chest,elbow,fore-arm,spine protection and kidney belt built into it. It is actually less money for it than if you buy everything seperate and if you don't wear a jersey over it or anything under it it isn't really hot to wear in the summer. The only thing I don't like about it is I always feel like I look like a power ranger or something in it. Come fall it won't be so bad because I will wear a jersey over it. If you want max protection I feel that that is the way to go. Mine was a $189 but if you add up what you get, it was less money. The only down fall is the cool factor, but I am an old married man and not out to impress anyone It does offer alot of piece of mind because by the time I get that on, thor force knee guards, boots, gloves, helmet, goggles I feel bullet proof. The only way to hurt myself is to break a bone.
