05 RM250 FMF fatty pipe.

I got a new one cheap off ****, and had chance to try it today at FoxValley today. They have a small tamed down SX style track, nice and tight and twisty. I tried the pipe back to back with the PC pipe (and PC shorty silencer). The FMF pipe bolts up ok with the PC silencer. Its a really good pipe IMO!!! loads more bottom than the PC, but it doenst have a nasty hit- just instant power at the crack of the throttle, nice and crisp and meaty. In some sections, i would feather the clutch with the PC, but just a stab of clutch (if that) was all that was needed with the Fatty.

i dont know about top end and overrev, since it was too tight, but since i the bike can run a gear higher a bit more often, i am keeping it on and the PC is now a wall decoration.

the only other engine mods i have are a V-force3, 5mm reed block spacer and YZ250 carb manifold. 48 pilot, optional needle #3 and 162 main.

dont tell me the RM doesnt have enough for ya??!! sorry about the typo

whats the deal with the yz manifold??

is that all you got? the YZ reed setup came for $25 from e-bay, it improves throttle response right off the bottom- you know them two things the CRs dont have much off. the 06 RM250s come stock like that now, the only difference is the carbon reeds and slightly shorter intake manifold. The needle and jet came with the bike (free), and i havent changed the jetting since the first week (not that it needed anything other than minor adjustment), let alone bought new carbs or expensive custom needles and fuels and spent endless hours dialling it in. no waiting weeks for my cylinder to come back from porting either. other than that, yeah, i didnt need the pipe or v-force, i got the PC pipe before i left SoCal (i get deals on PC and wanted a spare), and the v-force was a birthday present since i coudnt think of anything i really needed. the fatty i bought out of boredom, but i am glad i did since its chromed, so now i dont have to polish the PC pipe, LOL.

I HAVE A RM 250 02 PRO CIRCUIT PIPE,UNI FILTER,V-FORCE,AND RECENTLY ADDED A POWER BLADE WHICH SUPRISED ME AT THE DIFFERACE IT MADE, BUT UNTIL i ADDED THAT IT RAN FINE NOW ITS BOGGING ON TAKE OFF WHICH I THINK MEANS ITS RUNNING LEAN IF IT IS AND ITS THE JETTING WHAT ARE PROPER SETTINGS FOR A 02 RM 250, AND IN MISSIOURI.

was wondering what the yz manifold does for you , how is it better?? would it work on a lowly cr since it seems to have an advantage on a rm w/vforce and fatty which is the same set up i got on my bike. i mean i got my bike jetted so it gets with the program at any point in the rpm range but that just sounds interesting. OHH by the way I will have a set of fresh backgrounds on the CR shortly since i got some in the mail today
thanks again BC ; now i have to find out whats my favorite #

dont run 372- thats my number, so you are likely to get beat up in the pits.

as for the manifold, quite often, when you can shorten the intake tract, it makes for better throttle response, but i doubt it would bolt to the CR (RMs and YZs both 125s and 250s have shared parts for years). you can achieve the same thing by shortening the front of the carb. years ago, factory bikes had the PWK carb shortened so much they removed the choke altogether. on the regular PWK airstryker, you can shorten it by 5-10mm on a lathe, you just need to re-cut the sealing ring.

sheesh .......man, any more throttle response and youll be twisting it with telekinesis
