new or used?

Hey my name is Russ I'm 18 like 6'2 and 160lbs. I've been thinking about getting a dirt bike for the last 8 years. I finally decided that I want to get one. Although I've never been on one I've always loved them. It really doesn't matter to me if I go new or used since they really have no warranty on them. Most of my riding would be on dirt or grass trails. Eventually I might take it to a track. I was hoping you guys out there could give me some input on bikes to look into again new or used. I really just want something I will be able to enjoy for a first bike and I don't want to out grow it quickly either.

I'm not sure but I think I might want a 2 stroke.

I would recommend you buy used for your first bike. You're garanteed to crash, so why wreck a brand new bike? As for bikes, I would suggest you start on a Kawasaki KDX200 to learn the basics, then after you learn to ride fairly well, decide if you want to concentrate on track or trails and buy a bike specific to that discipline.
