MHSC series

Anyone here ever ride any of the MHSC (Missouri hare scramble championship) series? There are four rounds left and right now the top two AA guys are one point apart. Good races in every class. The courses are between six and ten mile loops. Every race is different except that they are all two hours long. Just wandering.

I miss the MHSC like you wouldn't believe. The people, the consistency of how it's organized, and the competitiveness. Nothing else like it in the Midwest.

I agree with KaTooMer,

Ran the Kahoka round earlier this year, Class act all the way and so organized, this is the way all HS series should be run!

What class did you ride Munch? I rode in 250C and got my first top five ever with a fifth. It was a little muddy but I like that better than the dust we have had since. But at Newark last weekend it was perfect not muddy and not dusty. You should of made it to that one. It was great. Later.

Sounds like some good stuff 6-10 mile loops would be nice for a change, and 2 hours would be good too.

RM,

I ran the 200 B class, I rode down with Weld-it. I had a blast down there, I would take mud over dust any day! Wish the series had a few more closer locations, Might try to catch a few more next year.

DJJ,

You should come to the district 22 race that is at Atalissa on October 9. It is probably about another 45 minutes from Aledo but it is a great harescramble as last year it was a 12 mile course, they did some dirt work there this spring and they are guessing it will be around 9 - 10 miles this year
( hopefully more ).

It has a section that runs on river bottom that is a absolute
blast to ride, a few big hills, a mudhole or two, few connecting
grass sections, some tight sections. The one nice thing is it is only used once a year for riding as 3 or 4 farmers let the club use it this one weekend of racing, when you sign up you get a free event shirt. It is one of my favorite races to attend
as the club really tries hard to put on a good race, they also are having 2 checks to cut down on the "hotlines".
This is a 2 hour race.

Woods_weapon_1 ( woodshellion ) has raced this a few times
and I bet he will be there this year again. Hopefully he doesn't pull off of the trail and parks his bike and sit on the hillside throwing walnuts at the passing riders

Anyway I have raced 2 of the MHSC series this year and Kahoka was great and they put on a great race no matter where at, but it's to bad their races are so far away. I went to the Lebanon race and got a lesson in riding rocks

You guys are right, Missouri has a well organized series. I was riding them all a few years ago. Our club...(Midwest Trail Riders) is putting-on a series race September 17, in Bixby, Mo. The coarse will be about 10 miles, tight, and REAL rocky. We have a big staging area (graveled), a primitive camp ground, a new pavilion, and a challenging hand-cut trail loop! No ATV's. Our club members are experienced and work hard to put on a top-notch event...see you there!

This weekend is round #13 in Eugene, MO. Shouldn't be dusty or muddy but it will be rocky. Hope to see some of you there.

12 mile loop, man that has got to be so cool. 10-9-05 is the ILL. state championship at FVOR so I'll be there defending my thumper class win I got last race there. Since all the regular guys will be back I have to see if I can keep up with them.

I'm gonna try and make to Bixby 2-strokes. I know a guy in the club that is helping work it. Hope to see ya there.

Enjoy! I won't make it. Was there yesterday, got cross rutted and high-sided...broken wrists and seperated shoulder....on a positive, it's been 10 years since a broken bone. My name is John Stout....I may know your friend.

That is to bad to hear 2-strokes. My buddys name is Jerry Mitchell. Hope you get better soon.
