Picking CRF250 up friday

Hey, Im picking up a brand new CRF250 this friday. Im moving up from an 85 expert and just have a few questions and concerns. It was between the 05' CRF250 and an 06' CR125, i sat on both bikes(im short, 5'3"-5'4" 130lbs with no gear),and noticed that the CR actually sits higher than the CRF, i thuoght the CRF was higher. Another thing i noticed was that when i pushed down on the back of the bike the CRF was wwwaaayyy stiffer than the CR, im gonna have to loosen it up until i can afford new springs, but we'll see how it works out with the stock springs in. So when it comes to maitenance, when i get it im gonna grease the linkage and the headset, and im gonna break it in hard and change the oil every other ride. I really dont want valve problems so how does all of this sound? Anyway, i cant wait to pick it up, ill give a ride report soon telling how much different it is moving up from an 85 to a CRF250.

Also, can someone give me a correct starting procedure for this bike?

Their press release on the '06 CRF250 says they changed the valve seat materials...if that fixes or reduces the valve wear issues, it may be worth it to wait? Rich R is the expert on that on this site, I just remembered seeing that as a highlighted change.

I cant wait anymore, Im getting the 05' Friday. Any chance you think the 06' head would be compatable with the 05's?
