Seat Cover?

Hey guys, I have a 1989 KDX. It's a pretty good ride for my first bike. But I wanted to spruce it up a bit, so I bought a black and green seat cover for my bike. I was told it fits exactly to my bike, but it seams a bit baggy at the front where the curve starts to go over the gas tank.

Are there any tips that would be helpful, like whether to heat it up or not. I plan on doing it in the near future because I have the seat off now.

Thanks in advance.

I put a new seat cover on my XR 250 and it was a bear to get on! I did use a hair dryer to heat it up and it made a huge difference. Basically, just plan on wrestling with it for a few hours, have a good staple gun, heat it up and work fast, and plan on VERY sore thumbs!

I removed the old seat cover and all of the staples. I then took the seat and the new cover to my local upholstery shop with a crisp $20 in hand--30 minutes later perfecto

I put a black gripper seat cover for a KX500 on my 1990 KDX. Worked and looked awesome.

I have an '89 KDX too, and I changed all the graphics, fork boots, and seat cover from the stock blue (from that year) to the newer black config. used on current bikes. I got the graphics kit (set of tank stickers) and black fork boots from Dennis Kirk. I put an all black gripper seat cover on mine and the whole package turned out great. I love my bike and will probably keep it forever. Have fun with yours!

Well I put my seat cover on the other night. It took a few hours but we got it on. I am quite pleased with the overall look.
Here's a pic.
