I was wondering if a pair of 1999 kx125 forks will fit my kdx?? My bike is a 2001. WHat would i need to make them work on my bike. And are there any advantages of putting these forks on my bike?>?? Will my bike be tipped foward at all, Im just wondering cause im not sure if they are the same length. Also how many pounds are the stock springs set up to hold?? thanks for your time

it would depend on what year forks you put on. I think you have to modify or swap and midify the clamps too.
it would be a lot easier to tune on the forks you have instead of re-inventing the 'fork'.
folks like Jeff Fredette can get you dialed in with your current setup. i run his shim stack and stiffer springs front and back and can't complain. the time and effort spent on converting you could be out playing on well tuned suspension and getting faster.

I dont know my friend brought his 96 KX 250 for me to store for awhile. I was amazed at how similar the 96 KX 250 and my 01 220 were.. I think the whole front end would bolt right on the only differance I could see is that the front steering tube seemed to be more reiforced on the KX.. Personally I would not convert to USD forks, personally I think it is a cosmetic change as people like the look better. I cant really see any advantage over the standard forks.. Like the advise previously given get your forks tuned right and you will be fine... You will still have to get the USD forks tuned to your taste and it might actually unbalance the bike unless you do some serious work to the shock as well...

I have just fitted klx300r forks to my 2001 220r the advantages are more ground clearance in ruts and you get 37kg/mm. springs. Ground clearance being the major issue. Klx forks are valved for trail riding and kx aren't. I rode a 2006 kx125 on the weekend on the trail, i would not recomend these forks without a re valve. Very hard. Klx are a straight swap and only require a blob of weld on the steering stops to avoid hitting the tank.

My KX forks work fine on a my KDX. Revalve, respring.... it's all relative.
