radiator scoops

Hey i was wondering if anybody has tried putting radiator scoops from a diffrent bike on their kdx? A 1991 in particular. I have a 91 kdx 200 and want to put some new radiator scoops on, but maybe spice things up with some from a kx. Has anyone done this? thanks

You will find that it's extremely difficult since the gas tank is molded for the specific shrouds for your bike. So, unless you make a change to your tank (replace it, if possible), the only way you'll get other shrouds to work is to hack the crap out of whatever you try to put on, which will defeat the whole purpose since it will look like crap. Your best bet to "spice things up" would be to experiment with different sticker kits (that you'll have to modify). Cut-up sticker kits will look a lot better than hacked up shrouds. Do a Google photo search for your bike and I'm sure you will find tons of photos of your bike that have been creativly spiced up without major surgery. Good luck!

you can also get the stock shrouds in different colors if you like (like black, my favorite :D )

Not sure. I had so many odd parts on mine that I can't remember what came from where or what was off of what bike sometimes...

And they either came from Maier themselves like factory direct *from Maier* or I found them in a cycle shop called pro something or other in the midwest....maybe proaction cycle or procycle or something like that? if I eventually have the name come to me I will PM you....

I know I posted the shops name itself on this forum when using screen name "Barkeater420" about a year or two ago if you want to try and do a search for it I am sure you can find it assuming it's still there...best of luck. It was a shop I don't normally order from and one of the rare ones you could actually find the black shrouds in...

I have searched everywhere for black shrouds and never came up with any anywhere.... Are you sure those aren't painted?
