Price for an 06 CRF450R?

I'm thinking of buying my first brand-new dirt bike after 21 years of riding used bikes. Does anyone have any tips for making the purchase and what price can I expect to pay for an 06 CRF450R?

My friend bought one at a place in VA for $6,000 out the door. This is the best price that I've heard of. Usually when you buy out of your home state you are not charged sales tax. Another suggestion is to look for a leftover 05. The dealers are dying to get these out of their showrooms and are making good deals.

It also depends on where you are in the US. $6k seems pretty good for VA. I'd think mid 6k will be the best you can find in CO, while mid-upper 5k's for the midwest and south. Try Service Honda, they ship for about $350 or a little less. Abernathy's in Tennessee has killer prices, but they do not ship. Also try Warrensburg Cycles in Warrensburg, MO. Ask for Marv. Not sure about their shipping policies.

I bought a 05 CRF450X from a dealer here in NJ for 5700 last month. Love the bike can't find a thing I would change about it.

I notice you're in Colorado, not too far from New Mexico. Deming Cycle Center in NM gave me an outstanding out the door price on my YZ250 and they are also a Honda dealer. May be worth it to check it out.

After much thought I ended up deciding to give four strokes another try. I picked up an 06 CRF450 in NH last weekend for $5997 OTD

Just purchased a 2006 CRF450 for 5799.00 +65 out the door at Honda East in Maumee Ohio.
