Hey guys im 5,8 132 lbs.I ride a 04 yz125 right now and im looking into getting a 4 stroke. What bike do you think is better the CRF 250 or the 450 what one would be best for me?I like the 450 more but whatever is the best decison I will go with it.

If you like the 450 more thats what you should go with...

oh yeah i forgot to say im 14

Average height and low weight! Do you have any experience racing? Is this just a play bike for you?

If you race/ride and have done well with the small bore bikes then move up if your heart says to. If not then get the 250 and learn to ride first or you will get hurt.

Good luck

well i havent started racing yet but im pretty goof on my 125 I can clear the 70ft table tops at my track

450 will be alot of bike after just a 125. But, if you really want one, get it. The 250F is sure fun though.

Just because the 450 is bigger, that doesnt instantly make you faster. A 450 is a lotta bike.(and heavy too)

And to paraphrase Eric Gorr, it will be waiting to pounce you like a mouse trap when you make the slightest misjudgement...

Whats the big power diffrence between the yz125 and the CRF250.because my 125 doesnt have as much power as I would like. But wouldnt the 250 be close to the same? They both race in the same class so there shouldnt be that much of a diffrence.

How many 125's do you see in the 125 class?
Why did the AMA dump the title "125 Class" ?
How many threads do you see about the power advantage the 4-stroke has and how mad some are about it?
Why did the AMA just allow the 125's to go to 144?
The HP may not be that different, but power delivery is.

Chopper Dave's comment holds true with me, I sold a 450 for the 250 and I'm a LOT bigger boy than you.

What are the advantages of the 2006 CRF250 compared to the 2005 CRF250?Because I dont think I wanna have twin mufflers.Because if I decide I want to put a new pipe on it I will end up paying double the price. And I dont wanna have one of the first made daul muffler bikes it will probably will have somthing wrong with it.

I think the jury is still out on what's better this year? I've yet to see a detailed ride report that compares the two. I've read it handles better do to mass centralization; I know that I'm not good enough for that to matter. I've read it has more bottom and I've read it has less than 05. Word is most of the aftermarket companies are making single exhaust for the 06. Just rumor? May be. You'd think since the new cans are smaller and under the side panels, they'd be less subceptable to damge, then again there are two of them so the odds of bending one goes up?

Oh well, live on the edge! Get an '06

I'm pretty sure that was in reference to his '03 yz450, a completely different animal than a newer CRF450. That '03YZF had a brutal hit.

True, but you can get in a lot more trouble with 450cc's than 250cc
