Best track/trail bike after KDX?

I'm 6'2" 220 w/o gear and I've been riding my KDX200 for over 2 years. A ride on a different bike convinced me that other bikes are easier to ride and inspire more confidence. I'm ready to "step up" and get another bike.
I ride track and trail for fun, no racing, but I have the most fun on an MX track. I prefer 2T over 4T; I love the hit and easy maintenance of a 2T (no offense intended!).
What is the best bike to ride on both track and trail? If YOU were going to spend an entire day swapping between track and trail, what bike would you want to be on, and why?
I'm thinking either a KX250 with a FWW or a KTM 250EXC, but since I haven't ridden either, I'm working off of recommendations at this point.
