I went to the yamaha dealer to check out the 06 model yz250f, it didnt have any oil in the bike so i couldnt start it or test drive it, but i got to sit on it and bounce around on it and its soooo nice!!1 The dealer said the price is $5999 and they have this thing for 6 months with 0% im debating on if i should wait another few weeks and save up and maybe buy that and just come with $5500 in cash and see if i can work him down to that, or just get a 2004 for $3500, there is this one guy selling his 04 ...

you got pixies?!! do share!!

i just spent like 2-3 hours reading up on yz-f models from 2001-2004 , reviews from the riders and people who tested them and such. 2004 is the first year that they have not changed anything with the engine, lightened the crank in 2003 i believe and did a few more other internal upgrades but from 2004- present the engine is at its best with best performance, out runs all the other 4 strokes out there in its class, also yamaha had 4 years ahead of all the other 250 4 strokes that are out there right now, wich means they perfected it.

Since i cant afford a 2006 model at this moment, ill settle for a 2003-2005 bike. One thing about the 2006 i dont like is the ground clearance is i think 1" lower. Im tall and 200lbs so ill sag the bike a bit as it is.

Does anyone know of any good "beefy" skid plates i have seen some flimsy thin ones, but i want something thick to protect the bottom of the bike.
