What bike for a kid?

My sister is looking into getting a bike for her son.
He is 7 years old, a little over 4 feet tall and weighs around 65 pounds (he's tall and solid, certainly not fat).
He has never ridden before.
Any ideas?
She was asking about the 50cc bikes, but given his size I was thinking that something a little larger like an xr70 might be in order.
I don't know their price range yet, but I do know that they are looking into used bikes rather than brand new.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

The big one is that since he is new, make sure he can flat-foot it. Getting a bike he'll "grow into" is a sure way to make sure he gives up on it. Standing flat inspires confidence and that is the name of the game for him right now.
That said, one of the Honda Z/XR/CRF50s or XR/CRF70s would be perfect.
Also, make sure she has funds for a helmet, goggles, a pair of MX gloves (they have velcro to keep them from being thrown off) and at the very least a pair of workboots, although MX boots are preferred. That makes all the difference for when he falls off of it and he will fall off. We all did.

The TTR90, or KLX110 would be good options in you are not inclined to go red. For a kid that size, I don't think any 50 would be appropriate.
