I have been riding a 125 for about 3 or 4 years now and my brother just got a yz 250 well he hurt himself so i took the bike and i was terrible. i couldnt go up the simpliest hills. Is a 250 worth learning how to ride or is a 125 better for hill climbing and handleing. i mean my riding experience was terrible on this bike

Well, from many people who ride around my area, I hear a lot of them actually use a 250 for a while, and then go back to a 125 because they'll actually be faster on the 125 now that they had the chance to ride the 250.. something to think about.

I'm 5'4" 140 lbs. I hate the extra weight of a 250 over a 125. My '02 RM 125 feels light and quick. My bros '00 KX 250 feels like a TANK to me. I suppose I'd have a different opinion if I was 6', 190lbs.

On this one item, not a chance. When climbing hills, bigger is better. 250s are better than 125s and 500s are best of all.
