Nitrogen charge on a 02 YZ250??

Was looking at a friends 02 YZ 250.The rear shock seems to sag alot(static) He swears that he never let any air out.
I was wandering what it would charge to.

150-175psi. Have you tried adjusting the preload?

I didn't check the preload yet.Spanner nut's are about halfway.
The rear free sags about 2.5-3"
Got any other setup tip's This will be my first Yamaha owned

Looking to buy an '81 YZ. Same saggy rear end, maybe the nitrogen gas has gone?
