Tune with oil?

I'm thinking about trying to tune my 125sx forks for my weight (185lbs) by changing the viscocity and height of my oil. My KTM has 430ml of 5w fork oil, stock. I've been thinking about going to 500ml of 15w oil. Seems to me to be a cheap way to tune, if it works. Am I setting my self up for problems?
