i have one. i like it. I had to get lost in the woods a coupple times before i bought one. There waterproof, good on batteries, if the batteries die, all your info is stored if you don't loose it. I would not rely on it completly as it is an electronic device and if it failed you could loose your life. It is great though for an emergency situation where if you do get lost it will show where you are as well as where you truck or campsite is. I find in the forest mine is really only accurate to within a few meters. Opps soory. 12' or so. Then again if your within 12' of your truck and can't find it you really shouldn't be in the forest. All kidding aside it is a good tool as it will show you where your vehical is and then track your movements as you ride leaving what is called a breadcrumb trail that show you where you have been relative to where you are and where your truck is. Sometimes depending where you carrie or mount it the trees can obstruct the signal. This is not a big deal though cause as soon as you find any sort of open space the signal will resume. I usually carry mine in my backpack. I just leave it on and ride. If i need to look at cause i'm disorientated it is always there. I gets pretty muddy after a ride and so its nice that i can stick it under the tap and wash it off afterwards. One thing i recomend doing is protecting the screen with screen protectors that you can buy from any computer store. This will ensure you don't scratch the hell out of your new GPS screen. Anyway, I'm glad i bought one cause i don't have the skills or patience to guide my way out of the woods in a panic situation with just a compass. With the GPS you follow the arrow. That is all. Like i said though it is great for an emergency or to play around with when your on new trails as you can store the paths you have taken for future rides, but in the same sense if your lost and your batteries are dead, or you dropped it and broke, or it just isn't working for some reason it could get you into troubble.
I would say get one. its worth it. I've been lost. it sucks

I've got an eTrex but opted against the camo just so I could find it when it evetually gets tossed from the bike in a crash. Solid basic unit. No fancy downloadable maps or anything but it does what it was intended to do. I've made a mount for my bars. On the two stroke it would vibrate enough to make the batteries lose connection so I bent the contacts some and stuffed a little foam in there to tighten things up. Never had the problem on the 4 stroke. Carry fresh batteries if you're going out very far. You will never regret having spares but could certainly regret not.
