Exhaust Tips?

I noticed this year the boys are runnung pointed tips on the exhaust. Does this help with the sound regs? What gives? I also noticed White Bros. seemed to miss the boat as Yosh pipes are more popular this year is that also sound issues?

I think the US pipes followed the Euro's with their "no stinger" stying a couple years back. I noticed the Canadian model bikes had stock Euro-style exhaust outlets before the US versions did, etc.
Oh, and yes, non-stinger style coupled with no rear fender is all the rage these days for passing sound inspection!

Phillip,
The "pointed" exhaust tips were mandated for safety. Apparently, there was a concern about people getting impaled on the older-style stingers in a crash.
