Hopefully more commercials advertising the race

the only beef I have is they could have showed a few highlights of the semis and the LCQ, just so we could see who and how everyone got into the main.

Would have had to cut something else out. What would you have cut? I'd like more, too, but all in all, I liked it. If they all stay healthy, it's going to be a great year!

I'm pissed that my local CBS affiliate didn't run it but showed some infomercial and animal show instead.

Figured it out 10 minutes before that it was on CBS but had to leave. Then, incorrectly programmed the VCR and it didn't record. Anyone know of any rerun of A1 during the week?

RC and I think they could have cut out his tip-over.

Posted by: Sandjunky---------------------

Great! I missed it. I thought it was supposed to be on Speed. Is there going to be any rebroacasts?

They showed the starting grid for the main twice. They could have shown AT LEAST who advanced from where.

Posted by: wanaride---------------------

To me, it didn't seem like a CBS broadcast at all (except for the CBS logos on the info screens). The Speed Channel crew televised the race and other aspects of the program were clearly Speed material. The touchy-feely RC tribute did smell like CBS though...that was still a good segment.

Posted by: Vic---------------------

I could do without most of the re-plays. I'd rather see something I haven't seen, yet.

Posted by: OldTimer---------------------

Was it a half hour show? I caught it at noon local time and BANG, they were off the gates in the main as soon as the broadcast started. Listing showed it ran from 12:00 to 12:30, so I figured it might actually run from 12:00 to 1:00, so rather than trusting it to TIVO a sat down at noon, remote in hand, ready to "outwit" the programming director. Haa!
I did, however, get to see the entire main, but wondered if there was a half hour of heat racing, bio's, and build-up I'd missed.
CBS's coverage was great, hope they got enough ratings to expand their coverage next season!!!(only more than 30 min. shows)!

Posted by: Someone---------------------

does anyone know if they're going to re-broadcast the race?

Posted by: Ryone---------------------

I don't know about a re-broadcast, but they did show the full hour of racing, OldTimer. You didn't miss a whole lot in the heat races except for a spill by McGrath in the same spot that RC went down in the main, as well as a big first turn pile up in Heat 1 that claimed Reed and almost claimed Bubba. Stewart was able to win the heat after coming back from about 15th. Reed caught up to 2nd or third I believe. In heat 2, RC almost got the holeshot, then passed for the lead and took the win.

I could have done with a few less shots of CR's mechanic and more of the racing at that time, (If I have to pick nits ) We still need Bailey!

Posted by: Someone---------------------

Sounds like I missed a great race. Please post a torrent if anyone knows of one.

Somebody call the whaaaambulance

OT, we have the Memphis affiliate fondness of the First Baptist Church broadcast to thank for them cutting the first half hour. Fire off a letter to WREG programming.
