Riding in Northern IL

The only decent place I currently know of in my area is Lake Geneva. I don't race though and they are only open for practice on Tuesdays. I've been thinking about taking a trip out to Byron (2 hour drive). Are there any other locations around here worth checking out?

Another place you might want to give a try is Buffalo Range Riding area in Ottawa. It's about 2.5 hrs from you. Roughly 400 acres of trails and an MX track as well. I have also heard of a club near Rockford that has a riding area. Don't know too much about that one so maybe someone from there can respond with that info.

We have a riding area southwest of Rockford, but it's woods only.

I'd be interested in some more info, NDRO. I've ridden at Black River Falls, is it similar to their trails?

I haven't been to BRF on a bike. I have hunted up there a few times and it's nothing like our club grounds.
We have 30 acres just southwest of Byron. It's tight woods with a couple tree crossings (OK, Lots of trees). The woods loop is about 3 miles. Members can ride anytime they would like.
Only a few small whoops, unlike BRF, and no sand to speak of.
