I have the opportunity to purchase a late 90's CR250 from a friend who is getting out of riding. I am 5'9", 165 lbs, 35 years old. Is this bike too big for me? I am concerned because I a saw another post by a guy who is 5''8" and was tiptoe on another bike and someone else mentioned that below a particular rider weight the bike would not compress correctly.

Touching the ground is overrated.
In other words, no, it isn't too big.

Agreed, but not mentioning your riding experience, it is alot of bike.
97 crs had a handling issue due to stiff frames.
