hey guys just wondering if the 2003 yamaha ttr 125le is a good bike.this bike would be for my mom. there is one near me with a procircuit complete exhaust for $2000. is this a good bike. and is it a good price.thanks

This would be a fine choice as long as it stays close to the ground. I wouldn't pay that much for it though. I would have to look for a price in the 1500-1800 range if it were me. But let's see what everybody else says.

I know where you can get one a lot cheaper!

i know i have some negotiating power. i talked the same dealership where i got my bike. down 300 bucks for my kdx and bought it for 2500 instead of 2800. i know i can get it for cheaper. but the thing looks brand new and has no scratches, or dings, save for the pipe.

Pretty is pretty, but it's an 03. Picture it before they washed it, and that's what it'll look like in a couple of weeks. The KX65 my boy got for xmas doesn't look so new now. If an old bike looks too good, I would be more concerned than if it had a dented pipe, bubbled graphics, torn seat, and
discolored plastic.

I just bought a 2006 ttr 125 in December for $2500. I would hope you could find a 2003 for $1500 or less.

Just because the bike looks new does not mean it was abused! If it has a "dented pipe, bubbled graphics, torn seat, and discolored plastic." as frudaddy says...then it most definitely has been abused. So don't listen to illogical statements such as that.

I would shop around for a better deal unless you can get him to come down $500 or more.

I think you have misunderstood my statement. I wasn't saying that the bike was abused because it looks new, just that some people will pretty up a clapped out bike to conceal the damage, so you shouldn't read too much into the shine. A dented pipe could come from getting roosted.Seat could be torn by the toe of the boot being thrown over it, or maybe something fell on it in the garage. Graphics often bubble from fuel vapors coming throug the tank. Faded plastics would be from exposure to the sun. These symptoms do not necessarity indicate and abused bike, just an old bike. I would pay less for the ugly bike, but I would be extremely cautious of a 3 year old bike with no visible wear.

Roger that! I misunderstood your comment.

heres a link http://adcache.cycletrader.com/5/8/1/82458581.htm i didn't say dented pipe i meant it is like brand new and hardly ridden.

I sold my old 2003 ttr 125L for 1100 and i bought it new in 2003
