finally got everything on(broken kickstart shaft, throttle cable) so now all i gotta do is get the air hose from the air box to the carb on the air box side and add some oil into the clutch side. now comes my question. what oil do i put in the case on the clutch side, i dont want anything too thick because it'll make the clutch plates stick. when i checked it before i ripped the bike apart it needed some oil so i grabbed some oil that i was mixing with the fuel. its 2 stroke outboard oil mixed at 40:1 ratio and works great. so could i just throw some more of the same oil into the case? it seemed to work before. thanx for the answers. my dad didnt even know what kind of oil to add. if i dont get any answers here i will call my local kawi shop and ask.

You must not put 2 stroke oil in there .

You need to get Gear Oil from a motorcycle shop like BELRAY or equivalent .

I have recently changed the gear oil on my KDX 125 SR 2 stroke due to a gasket renewal. The oil I used (which is the type recommended in the mainenance manual) was SAE 30 10W40 Motor cycle gear oil.

umm well it put the air hose from the air box to carb onto the air box(with excessive swearing but surprisingly no kicking it) and added some castrol 10-40 into the case and finally got it to fire up. there was no fuel going from tank to carb and think the float got stuck because it sat for months. and she fires up nice now. now i gotta find a piece of plastic pipe as thin as possible so i can glue it onto the old one( it goes between the rubber grip and handle bar). and i gotta re-route the throttle cable. when its running or not doesnt matter, you can get the cable to come strait out of the carb but as soon as you give it throttle it goes all bendy. so im going to re-route it and see if i can get a little more slack.

Whatever you do, don't ride it until you get it fixed. Never ride a bike without a properly functioning throttle and brakes. If you can't shut the throttle off or can't brake, you are asking for trouble.

If you are referring to your plastic throttle tube, I would replace it if it were me, not try to fix a broken one. There is too much risk of a stuck throttle if it doesn't work out just right, which is very dangerous.
