New camper!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Just picked up a new camper, this one I can put the bikes in
We went with this one because it is still camper like inside as apposed to garage like for standard camping trips with out costing and arm and a leg. The post a few threads down is because we banned the kids from sleeping anyplace but their room (garage) but they are not too keen on sleeping together so I'm looking for some fold down bunks to put in place of the pivot bed.

Very nice! Congrats.

I'm jealous

Sweet!

Very Nice. We drove real slow by the RV dealership on Saturday looking at the Talons. You know the ones with the "seperate" garage in the back. Your is the first I've seen with the front storage. Now that we have switched to bikes, I may be able to get one. With 3-4 quads, it simply wouldn' work.

Cool layout on your new camper - that's pretty different.

dirtbikedad - if they carry KZ's in your area, the KZ Sportsman Sportster has 18 different floorplan layouts, most with the garage separate in the back, plus the prices are pretty reasonable. We have the 26P, buko138 has the 24, and oldguy has the 29P - I've camped out in the races at all three, so I could, or they could give feedback if needed.

Thanks Nikki. I feel like we'll have one one day... couple years... there is a catch though. I need a better tow vehicle. My 1/2 ton just doesn't get the job done. What do all of you pull with? 5.3 enough or do you need a diesel?

Posted by: nikki---------------------

We and oldguy are pulling with the F350 diesels, but buko138 is pulling the 24' Sportster (tag trailer, not 5th wheel) with a F250 gas. I think they get 8-9 mpg with the gas, worse if pulling into the wind, and we have pulled their trailer with the diesel and get around 12-13 mpg.

Hey thanks guys, I'm pretty pumped about this, we have been talking about it for awhile and it finally happend!

dirtbikingdad try this link, they are 1/2 ton towable and everything folds up so you can haul quads....you could sell the quads and buy bikes

The KZ website seems to not be working tonight.I tried it a couple different ways & even confirmed that I was using the right address from another site.
I'm in the market for a tag trailer with a walled "garage" space. I'm looking for something large and comfortable (read "with slideout"). I'm even thinking of getting one custom - built by one of the cargo trailer companies. Any tips would be appreciated; thanks! Ken

They're gone already. We went to a MX track this weekend and there was a guy on a z400. It didn't look like fun. It looked heavy and slow. It's amazing, when I use to ride quads, I thought they are awesome. I can't believe I changed so quickly!

Nikki's link worked for me. There is a dealer 21 miles from my house. I may have to check'em out.

That's an awesome camper! Me and dad always wanted one of those but mom wouldn't go for it. I remember one time we took the bikes camping and had to pull them on a small trailer behind the camper....turns out the bike trailer wasn't the highest quality and the boards buckeled and the tie straps holding my bike slipped off and all that was holding my bike on the trailer was the knot my dad had tied to keep the extra length of the tie strap out of the way. My poor bike was actually being pulled down the road hanging off the trailer at a 90 degree angle...it was awful, thank god it didnt fall. At that point I wished we had a toy hauler but no such luck. I've never seen an outside kitchen like that, that's pretty cool!

great camper now you have no excuse for missing dirtweek- you really have to get the most use out of it. The only thing I notice is when you load in bikes how much are you alterring the hitch weight?
Dirtbikedad nikki made my truck grow up I only have a f250 but it is diesel and pulling the fifth wheel we get 11 to 12 mpg.
I think Zoomer is on the verge of joining us in the KZ ranks with the 32P

CaNaDiAn,Eh?
Ouch that coulda been bad! We like the outside kitchen idea too.We have been looking at these things for a long time but we couldn't find one that seemed like a normal camper that you could put bike in.

oldguy
yup it will, but Amys bike only weighs like 180 so together they both weigh less the a 4 stroke I guess I'll have to play with the hitch a little to get adjustments for both, ether way the hitch weight(no bike) is pretty lite so its not a problem.

I was thinking that I now have a cool camper and vac time coming and I am not going to be into a bid house remodel DW2006 is doable!

Yup, KZ site is working today.

Thanks for the links you sent me. I really like the layout. The 23' looks pretty nice as well.
