Limiting power on wifes bike??

Can anyone tell me how to limit the trottle on a KX 100? A new bike for wife that I would like to keep off the pipe as much as possible. I understand that the flywheel weights and less teeth upfront are good ways to tame the hit but I would like to avoid as much of the hit as possible during her first outings. Is there a way to limit the trottle to keep it off the pipe and if so how does one do this mod?
Cheers

Put a little home made spacer above the slide in the carb. A little piece of brass tube would work. Maybe adjust a bunch of slop in the throttle cable if you want an easier approach.

Limiting the throttle will help a little but not a lot. The power on these little bikes is very rpm dependent. In otherwords, even at half throttle it will have a pretty big step in the power curve. IMO your better off with a flywheel weight and good clean jetting. My wife, mom and sister all ride KX100's and none of them have found the need for a throttle stop. My wife is pretty new and just keeps it at pretty low rpm where its pretty docile. My mom has been riding for years, but isn't really wild so she revs up higher than my wife, but not really into the upper reaches of the power band. My sister rides hard and rings its neck for all its worth - she races womens class against a lot of bigger bikes and still has yet to be beat in a HS race and holds her own pretty well in MX.
If you really need to lessen the hit in the power curve you might try disconecting the powervalve and wiring it shut. I've never done this, but I'm sure it would really neuter the mid-top rush. Also, the 26mm round slide carb from the older KX80's seems to take away quite a bit of top end compared to the 28mm flat slide on the newer models.

Yes if you wire power valve in low position it takes away the hit and a lot of power.

Yep, just be sure to disconect the govener, if you wire it shut with the govener still connected it can apply enough force to break the connecting linkage.
