A few of us are planing on riding at Paragon Saturday April 1st. Riding starts at 10 so get there by 9. We'll meet in the bottom of the parking lot (usual place)

This is for all of you that think the middle of June is too long to wait for a Spring ride Here's a link to that thread http://dirtrider.net/forums3/showthread.php?t=130076

Posted by: CaptainObvious---------------------

If my bike is together (it's not even apart yet) I'll be there for sure.

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

I'm lookin' at 6" of snow on the ground that we got yesterday and thinking...crap. I WANNA GO RIDING!!!!!!

Dan Joseph and his crew might be coming down for this ride. He is a lot of fun to ride with. He said he can't make it in June so this might be good one to come to. Is anyone camping/hoteling for the night? He may want to make it a 2 day ride.

Posted by: njdrtrdr---------------------

Wish I could do it. Have a good ride. I've off to Virginia for that weekend.

Just came back from British Columbia last night. I'm trying to sneak in a day this weekend to get up to Paragon.

Nick

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Sorry you can't make it Nick. I hope to see you in June though!

Posted by: dklink2000---------------------

Do you know if paragon is offering yearly passes? I didn't see them on there web page.

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

They do have yearly passes. Maybe Scooter has some details. You can always call them for more info.

Posted by: Draybob---------------------

On their home page there is a picture link on the far right side of the page.

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Good eyes. I need to use a full screen...Here's the link http://paragonap.com/p_club_paragon.htm

Posted by: scooter1130---------------------

well it hit 72 degrees today, and I was out getting the bike ready for April 1st, so I guess I gotta go to Paragon tomorrow to make sure the bike is ready for that ride.

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

The extended outlook is for in the 40's at the end of March

Anthony

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Ill try to get up for April fools ride. I may spend the night if the weather is nice. I need tires and fork seals before I can start another years thrashing. Goondy, what do you need for your CR. My bud is a micro sprinter and has plenty of CR stuff on hand. There is really nothing that I know of wrong with the stock ignitn sys though.... You didnt take it to Thorns did you?

Posted by: goondy---------------------

thorn's hell no thats like throwing money away i took it to hole shot they race so they know more about a race bike the problem with the bike is no matter how good you jet it it's running rich and i read up on it and they say it has to do with the cdi for that year that it makes it run rich so im looking for a programmable racing ignition pro circuit carrys JD racing ignitions but there all gone sold out for the 2002 CR250 and Vortec dosen't make one for that year Wolf programmable cdi has one for my bike but i can't get ahold of them to make sure they have it still and then theres HorsePower ignition cdi but i din't hear much about them so i'm leary on that brand. well you know about thorn's were are you from?

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Im from around Quakertown but I ride out of 8 Bs. Try the general bike repair forum. Wonder if you could use the CDI off a newer or older CR?

There is a little shop up here in Newton, NJ who seems to have a few very good connections for parts. Try giving them a call. their website is www.whoopdeedoocycles.com

Tell them Dave with the KDX from across the street recommended them and he might cut you a break!

Or they might double the price

Posted by: goondy---------------------

well i got my bike back today it runs alot better but when u take the choke off and ride it the motor starts to rev real high on it's own almost like when ur running outta gas it was really cold out today about 25 degress that might have something to do with it but i dought it and im also still breakin it in well tomorrow should be nicer out also now it sounds like it's pinging when u get on the throttle i guess i am gonna have to take it for a good ride i hope i get it all worked out befor april comes it's a 2002 CR250 if anyone has any tips on what it can be?

Posted by: Trigger1911---------------------

I got a thread on ThumperTalk about this ride and a whole bunch of people want ot join us. This is going to be great. I even took off work! Is it the !st yet!!!!!!

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Cool! I hope to have a few guys I work with come too. It's gonna be fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

The RI contingent will be 5 strong.

We will be riding Sat and Sun getting there Friday night and camping right at Paragon

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

The YZF wont be back together in time for this ride. Looking at trying to get the "JBweld" special back together in time. I think the only thing keeping it from running was a pinched wire on the strator. If it doesnt run can i bring my quad.

Posted by: Draybob---------------------

Sounds like we may have a good size group showing up. I have one other following me up, and he's going to try to get two co-workers to come up too. Any chance of having enough to get the discount price?

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

I was wondering about that. Let me take a look at how many say they are coming. It's tough when we come from all over and unless we all check in at the same time it takes some negotiating with Paragon as to the logistics.

Posted by: Trigger1911---------------------

Hey Dray, we meet again! The TT thread is kicking a$$ too. Is it the 1st yet?

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

OK, here’s what I was able to pull out of this thread. I only count 14 but I’m sure I don’t have a good count. We need 25 for the discount. If you are not on this list or if the qty of riders isn’t correct next to your name, let me know. Trigger, can you get a headcount from Thumpertalk? Better yet, have them sign on to DRN and post themselves.

RM-guy 3-4
PK 3
Trigger 1
Tzr8cr 1+
Scooter 1 (doesn’t count for the discount)
Junkie 1
Dklink 1
Draybob 1
Goondy 1
JasonJ 1

Thumpertalk folks ??

Posted by: Draybob---------------------

I just posted over at Thumper Talk to direct anyone interested to this site. Looks like we'll be close.

Just posted?? 9:01AM was a while ago...

Posted by: Draybob---------------------

Uh......did you set your clock for that site. Because unless there has been some cosmic rip in the space time continuum somewhere between New York and PA, I show I posted at 12:01pm. That's just one minute before I posted here at 12:02pm

Posted by: scooter1130---------------------

Dont you know that NY time is different from the rest of the world

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Oh, I forgot to tell you, I am also the Master of All Time, Space & Matter. I never said I could tell time

Posted by: scooter1130---------------------

there are some new trails at Paragon again his year too. it doesnt look like it affected much of the single track, except the newwest section of the real tight stuff is gone. I dont ever remember riding that as a group anyway, the old section that we all love so much is still there. the entire pipeline is pretty much closed now, and they have bypassed all of it with new trails. I was gonna go up tomorrow and check the rest of the single track, but I blew a foerk seal up there last week, so I guess I should get that fixxed before next weekend.

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Hmmm... Are they going to update the trail map? I look forward to some exploring!

Posted by: scooter1130---------------------

I think the black and white maps at the park are updated, but the map on thier site isnt yet.

Posted by: goondy---------------------

hey i was just wondering is there any big jumps there? if so how big?

Posted by: goondy---------------------

also if i make it for the 1st i will bring a few friends what time will everybody beshowing up and were will we all meet up at i was never there so i will more then likly get lost lol

Posted by: scooter1130---------------------

there are a few jumps in the play area, but nothing big. Try to get there around 9:00, that gives you time to get everything ready before we hit the trails at 10. When you go into the parking lot, just keep driving straight down hill to the far end of the lot by the woods, that is the area we will be. Heres a pic of my truck, look for it with either the blue KTM or a blue ATK in the bed. truck pic

If you need some directions on getting there, let me know

Posted by: CaptainObvious---------------------

I don't think I'm gonna make April 1. I've yet to do my winter maintaience on my bike, and I really don't want to fire it up until I have a look-see at those pesky valves.

well its a dreary weekend, get off the computer and go check your valves....then we will see you next week.

I jsut got back from down your way, had to drop off my forks to get done, and dropped off the KTM for some work. So I'll be all set for next week.

Posted by: goondy---------------------

wow there gonna have that done for you by next week who do u take ur bike to most the shops around here are lazy and take months for stupid ****

Posted by: sick 96 250---------------------

i'm no go for the 1st, really wanted to make it but i picked up another project that is in pieces and putting it back together is taking a little longer than i thought. Plus i still have my studs on the RM so I need to put on the extra back tire i have and buy and new front Everyone have a good ride and i will see you all the spring ride i guess or maybe even before if any other weekends fall into a good time

Posted by: brpray---------------------

hi guys u can count me in for the 1st, also have a new rider as well, Mike has a crf230, been at Paragon twice over the last 3 weeks, KTM just great so far, that button makes it worth everything.
was there today, it turned out to be a great day for riding.

see everyone on the 1st

ray

For those that are going. Please re-introduce yourself to me. I've got full blown CRS. And I'll have most likely forgotten your name from last year

Posted by: Draybob---------------------

Looks like I have one from Thumpertalk that is definitely coming with me Saturday. I haven't had any follow up from anyone else over there. Is it just me or does it seem like it should be at least Thursday already?!

Posted by: scooter1130---------------------

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

Posted by: Draybob---------------------

If you haven't been to Paragon before here's a link to a waiver you will need to fill out and sign to ride at Paragon. Save yourself some time and have it ready to go before you get there. You will then get a key fob with bar code on it for future rides and you just have to sign an electronic waiver from then on.
http://www.paragonap.com/adobedocs/...v03_06-2005.pdf

Posted by: scooter1130---------------------

Also if you have anyone under 18 going with you, make sure to have the minor waiver signed and notorized before going.

Posted by: tzr8cr---------------------

looks like it's just me in my group no one else is either ready or up to it. what time you guys pit for lunch? as i might be late due getting home from work late on friday and it's about a 2.5 - 3 hr ride for me to get there. i'd like to get there around 10:30-11:00 if thats ok if not i'll try load my stuff thursday.

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

We'll be back around noon for lunch. With such a large group I'm sure we'll be breaking up into smaller groups so I'm someone should be there when you get there.

BTW, No discount this time. There's too much varibility in the number that's coming for me to commit to Paragon on having 25 of us. I plan on working out a better system for the future.

Posted by: Trigger1911---------------------

IS it the 1st yet!!!!!!!!! I am feaking the hell out!!!!! LOosing it!!!

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

well, we won't be camping this time around. We will be staying at a hotel. We'll be driving down Friday night and riding Saturday and Sunday.

Is it Friday yet?!!!!

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAHAHAHAHHH!!!! I WANNA RIDE!!!!!!

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

Is it 4:30 yet?

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

It's gotta be 4:30 somewhere!!!

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

What a great ride! It was great to see everyone again...even if I didn't get a chance to ride with everyone. I know iot was a good ride because I can barely walk today!!

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

It was a good ride. It's too bad we were plagued with bike troubles.
Joe never made it out of the gate, his bike just wouldn't run right
Dave- Got lots of practice changing his rear tire. I think he got two flats?
Nate- manufactured a chineese throwing star out of his CS sprocket which forced an early withdrawal on Sunday
Dan- his bike just wanted to lay down and nap.

Other than those troubles, it was a good time.

Saturday, started out nice, but got chilly and rainy. I got a nice ride in with RM_guy and his buddy steve later in the afternoon.

Sunday was just the RI contingent and Nate. Nate bowed out pretty early in the day, leaving just the three RI riders. We had a blast. With only three riders, it was easy to keep up a decent pace. We hit rabbit run, sleepy hollow (which has been ruined by the quad/jeep people. There's hardly a challenge to it anymore. Nothing like the first year we went in there. Don't get me wrong, it's still fun, but there are no show stoppers there anymore.

We ended the day at 2:00 and packed up and headed home. We were tired, but we all (well except for Joe) left with smiles on our faces.

Is it June yet?

Posted by: LoriKTM---------------------

Glad you guys got some riding in this early in the season! Dave and I were with you in spirit, if not in person.

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

You two were missed It was weird at first, someone else had to lead the pack.

btw, Dave is still interested in the video of his crash last year. We visited "his" tree, and he asked about it. Any chance of getting a copy?

Posted by: LoriKTM---------------------

Yep. The hubby put together a new DVD of last fall's "adventures" at Paragon. We'll make a couple copies and get them sent out to you. PM me your address-- I know I have it somewhere, but we're still not quite organized and unpacked yet!

Posted by: Trigger1911---------------------

Trigger owns a tree at the top of Howie hill now too! It is a pretty tree! Definetely a HARDWOOD tree!

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

I think eventually we will all own at least one tree there!

BTW, Rebecca (the girl I had with me on the RT180) sprained her ankle in her moring crash. She still rode the afternoon though and loves it. She is hobbling around on crutches at work now!

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

I have a tree from my first trip to Paragon! I ran right into it head on! That was my first lesson in "object fixation" hehehe

Posted by: scooter1130---------------------

I didnt claim a tree on this last ride, but I did claim a lot of earth.

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Ah yes, I too have a tree on the single track. It is laying down just like I was after I broke my leg in 3 places. I even have a picture of it with a Ruffed Grouse on it.....

Posted by: Trigger1911---------------------

PapaKeith, did my tire tools end up in Rhode Island? I think your buddy has them from changing his tire.
