So far most of the bikes I have been trying to get have been sold. But there is a 1994 rmx250 and a 1996 kdx200 which is the better bike in general?

The RMX is a better, higher performance bike. The KDX is virtually identical to a new one. Both are slow with the stock exhausts, but wake up nicely with an aftermarket exhaust system. In a race, the RMX will outpull the KDX. For most riding though, they will both work fine. I'd buy the RMX if it was me, but then I already have one, so I don't really need to buy one.

you cant really say which is better, they are each good in there own area's. Were are you gonna be riding>??

I'm going to be riding mostly forest trails because I live next to them, and I might ride in some enduro races.

Both bikes are really good for trail riding. The kdx might have a slight advantage in really tight technical sections, but the rmx has superior suspension for higher speed riding, plus the extra power can be fun to play with.. I don't think you could go wrong with either model, but you should probably base your decision on which machine is in better condition.

dont know much about the suzuki but the kdx is a great bike. If you get one, join kdxrider.net they will help you with everything.

Does the age of the rmx really make a difference of the performance from the kdx?

The RMX only underwent tuning changes graphics changes and suspension changes from when it was introduced in 1989 to when it was discontinued in about 1998. That said, its design was still more advacned, and higher performance than the KDX. It has a larger, more powerful motor, better suspension, and weighs similar to the KDX. It will be capable of outpulling the KDX, but it has a 50 cc displacement advantage, so it should be able to beat it. The KDX was redesigned in 1995, and hasn't really changed to this day. It was a significant advance at the time, but wasn't really any further ahead then than anything else, it was simply catching up to where the other bikes already were. For trail riding, either one will work fine, for racing, or being able to beat your buddies, the RMX will be better. The RMX has a bit more power, better suspension components, and will beat the KDX in a race, provided they are in similar states of tune. Depending upon your intended use, and size, either will be suitable, although the KDX is a bit milder than the RMX is. The age difference means nothing betwen those two bikes, as the RMX is actually more advanced in the suspension and power, than the KDX.

I just moved from a KLX 300R Dual Sport, Nice bike all around....
I'm now on a RMX 250 Dual Sport, The RMX is Bigger bike & alot faster. I just think it fits me better (I'm "6'3" 265 lbs) But if I was 180 Lbs or so the KLX/KDX is a great bike for a smaller rider & there are tons of bikes and parts out there for them for cheap $$$
