What would you like to hear? The season is starting to wind down and lose it's lustre to many. Most of the RC fans feel he has backed it down like he has in past seasons to make sure he collects the AMA championship. Most of the Stewart fans figure the kid has finally figured it all out and are intent on yapping about it at every chance, Just like the Reed fans did in seasons past when Reed closed out strong.

James will eventually be "the guy" anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. However to annoint him the saviour based on late season charges when the title is all but decided is laughable. Let me know where we stand halfway through the outdoors this summer and then perhaps James fans may have reason to yap. Until then it's all about one thing Who's ahead on the scoreboard?

Posted by: nephron---------------------

No WONDER Stewart was a bit pissed about the fuel reversal. Check the points standings. 5 behind Chad. If RC had lost the points, Stewart would own both AMA and WORLD.

ps--my boy Tommy Hahn. Belpre, Ks. Maybe a hundred people. Sets a faster average laptime than the reliably unremarkable Kevin Windham on a 450F, lol!

Posted by: evenslower---------------------

Sadly the big bikes were a pretty uneventful race. The only real "drama" was Byrne taking RC a little high in the first turn of the main, which might not seem like a big deal but people got pushed over the berm onto the floor all night. Even had to red flag the big bike LCQ when Lewis went down hard after getting pushed over. Stewart had the lead shortly after the start and it was pretty much over.

The lites class was little better, Hahn kept Millsaps honest. Grant went down/was taken down, not sure which on the first lap and apparently had mechanical probs and was out.

Looking forward to the broadcast this afternoon.

I wonder how quiet it will be next season regardless of whether Ricky retires or not.

Posted by: Micahdawg---------------------

Yeah, Pred and I were getting ready to duke it out over Krista. Now....I feel incomplete. Oh, and go Rick James!

Micah

Posted by: XRpredator---------------------

supposedly Krista will be back in Dallas. She was working a NASCAR race.

or so I read somewhere.

Went to Houston..Weather was nice and warm...Track looked pretty easy as most of the 250f's were pretty much doing the same lines and combinations as the 450's...

James looked very smooth until the last 5 laps or so and had a few scary moments..Looked like he just got a little tired after setting some quick laps...The average times between RC and JS were very close (about a tenth of a second) with James in favor with his quick early laps.

The difference between RC/JS and the rest of the riders is huge..I was watching one corner and RC and JS were on the gas hard way before the other riders..Looked like several feet earlier in the turn..so much so that the other riders looked like they were in slow motion.

RC looked flawless...I saw virtually no mistakes or scary moments which makes me wonder if he was pushing as hard as he could...If there was any I missed it...Looked like he was riding just inside his comfort zone..Probably the smoothest I've seen RC ride since the outdoors...He looked alot more agressive when the points were taken away that's for sure...

I was expecting alot more from Reed after the race he had the week before with RC..It's a shame that he got hurt because I was expecting him to do something in the second half of the season.

I was most impressed with the performance of the factory Kawasaki and Suzuki's...Maybe it's just the sound but JS and Byrne's KXF's looked and sounded spot on, and RC's RMZ looked very crisp and had a nice torquey sound to it...

Brown's 250 was QUIET....Sounded like a sewing machine compared to the 4 strokes..

Ya know, at this point I could care less who wins the title. I want to see great racing (hell, I'd take good) week in and week out.

Will somebody please tell Mr. Carmichael to get in the damn game. I almost hope he has a problem during the next race that causes him to have to actualy race the last few races of the season.

SX should never be boring!

Sorry to disagree, Cap. But RC's gettin' his ass whooped, plain and simple. He's not getting out front immediately. Stewart is. He's not able to pull away earlier. Stewart is. And as others have pointed out, he says he's giving it everything he's got 'himself' (if that makes sense)... You think he'd let Stewart walk away with the World title? lol!

Posted by: Mully---------------------

Dang Nepf, are you and bubba dateing ??

If I was RC I would be protecting my points too. But I realize it is a two edge sword.

Ride smart, protect the points or
Ride fast, and give the fans a show ????????????
