Alright,
1)I am 14, 5'7", and just starting to hit my growth spurt
2)Out of 10, I am maybe a 7
3)I plan on riding mostly trails and fields with friends, riding makeshift mx tracks, probobly time trials(against friends), drag races(against friends) and just racing in the trails against friends.
4)Very little riding experience
5)Like I said in #3, just against friends
6)I am not that great with motors, but good with maintenence(cleaning carb, air filter, etc)
7)would like a two stroke because they are cheaper because of the 4 strokes
8)will go through a private sale, looking for a used bike
9)$1500 or less
10)i can touch on a 125, like the looks of race bikes, should i get a race bike or trail bike based on the kind of riding i plan on doing? and most importantly, the doc said that i should be about 6' by the end of the summer, would like a bike that i can ride for a few years, not something i will outgrow in a month.

Im 14, 5'10, and just picked up a 1997 rm125 in good shape for 1400. I trail ride lots with it and theres no reason why you can't trail ride with a race bike. Full tank of gas will last me about 4 hours of trail riding. I also love the power and suspension, with the right jetting and some upgrades you can get some pretty good power out of a 125. The seat hight is 37.8 inches and I must have long legs because I can touch pretty much flat footed with boots. A 125 and a 250 usally have the same seat hight. Im sure you could pick up a late 90's 125 for under 1500.

For mostly off road, with trails and such primarily, and mild MX , a KDX 200/220 would be a good bike. For more serious jumping, the 125's become more attractive.

i would go with the crf250r i have one and im about your hight i can touch about half my feet on the ground it is a racing bike and it is a trail bike it is more for beginners than a 2-stroke it is a very fast bike though when you reach 6 foot you will still be able to ride it perfectly
