I am using the MSR comp ones. They are the best basic/knee shin guard I have found so far.

I'm running the cheap Answer knee/shin, and I hate them. Nothing holds the top in place except my pants, and after a while they start to rub my knees. Also, the shin guard makes it difficult to strap on my boots. These are the standard two strap around the calf, plastic guards that everybody sells.

I just bought the 06 Thor Force kneeguards and have ridden with them twice. I don't even know they are there now and they don't move at all. They are solid, comfortable, and fit well. They are a little stiff to bend your knee when you get them hooked up, but they are well worth it IMO.
