what is bad about yamahas yz250f i bought one and everybody keeps saying that yamahas aren't any good and that they break easilly does anyone know what there talking about

Who did you hear that from? Whoever you heard that from probably just dosn't like Yamaha.

There is nothing wrong with yamaha

The Yamaha four-stroke design has proven to be the one of the most reliable line of engines available. The current 250F design is now dated, but rumored to be in redesign for '07. Still, it is a dependable, raceable machine right off the showroom floor.

The bike will be as good as your ability to take good care of it.

Treat it like junk, and it will indeed be junk.

There are differences in design and quality of the bikes that results in better or worse reliablility...Like Jaybird said it also depends on how you maintain it...BUT....all things being equal (proper maintenance ect...) there are differences...All bikes have their weak points where something could've been designed a little better ect ect... but after you tally it all up some have more good things going for them than bad...I would put Yamaha's in that category...

That being said Yamaha's have an excellent reputation for reliability that is well deserved...Whoever said that is just throwing out a vague generalized statement that is not based on the facts...According to government factory recall data I've seen which is good at picking up major quality/reliability issues Yamaha ranks right near the top for having fewer numbers of reliability related problems.

MX action actualy stated "If it wasn't for YAMAHA to fool as with its reliability we would all be riding 125s "

One thing you need to do is learn how to service the valves. Letting them go could end up costing mucho coin.
Do a search, as Nikki has provided some very comprehensive instructions for the procedure.
And it is an easy task to perform...heck even a girl could do it! (ducking)

Here is the thread on checking the YZ 250F valves (which might I add is easier than checking the CRF 250 valves)
