RC faster in 2005?

I'm watching Phoenix 2005 on my comp right now. I don't know what it is, but RC definitely looks faster in the corners last year.

Maybe he was. Maybe its the camera angles. Maybe it's the two stroke. But geez he was absolutely railing the corners in the heat.

And man - that was a BAD crash Bubba had.

That's got to be it.

I actually believe that is it. Now before you thumper lovers get your manfunnels in a knot let me explain. I'm not suggesting RC was quicker on the 2 stroke, what I'm saying is the cornering style on the 2 stroke appeared quicker. The charge in rail the berm and blast out style versus tight inside line to an almost dead stop then torgue out technique common now.

Exactly what I was thinking.

I'd still be curious to see back to back lap times on a closed track 2 stroke and 4 stroke. I'm assuming the 4 would be a /12 second quicker, but I wonder.

No need to wonder, I can guarantee you that if he was faster on the 2 stroke RC would be riding one.

Here's what I'd like to do. Pick a corner, any corner, and have a pro go through that corner as fast as possible on a 125, 250f, 250, and 450. Set up something to measure maximum and minumum speed entering the corner, in the middle of the corner, and at the corner exit. Also have an accelerometer on the bike to measure the mic-corner G-loads. I'd bet that the 125 would have the greatest G-load and highest speeds everywhere but the corner exit, I'd have to give that one to the 450's.

I think Chilli got it right...RC even commented that the racing would look "slower" on the 4 stroke but in actuality be faster...I went to the Houston SX and RC and Stewart looked fast to me..Couldn't really tell a difference.
