how do i change the spark plug on a yz250f because the cap wont slid off and i dont want to force it and break something

On my 450F, the cap is about 4.5 inches long. Did you get a plug tool and manual with your bike? Just pull straight up and it will disconnect from the plug. The plug is way down inside the head.

WIth most of the 4 strokes you have to remove the gas tank to remove the cap and the plug, or atleast remove the rubber strap and fram e bolt so you can shift the tank out of the way. Then just pull up on the cap as bswift said the caps are long so you need the room to pull it off.

You dont have to remove the tank.
The top of the plug is the coil. It is a coil on spark ignition unit. Just pull straight up and it will come off. Then use the Yamaha Tool that came with the bike to remove the plug with a 14mm wrench.
