crankcase oil

just finished rebuilding kdx 200. now what oil does it call for in the crankcase 80-90 or 10w 30

I run Type F ATF. Works great. My brother just switched in his CRF 450 after 3 years and now he can start it in gear for the first time.

Do you mean the gearbox ?

The crank gets lubed by the premix .

For gearbox you should use 10 W 30 , I use Motul .

I hope he meant gearbox! You can pretty much use anything you want...10w30 or 10w/40 or ATF. I would stay away from anything thicker, it'll make cold shifting really hard. If you change it every 2 or 3 rides, just about anything you put in will meet or exceed manufacturer's recommendations. Don't waste money on synthetics...just change it a lot. try different types and if you find one that gives you great clutch and shifting action, stick with it. That's why I stuck with ATF. The bike shifts great and the clutch works great.
