Notice the "Heat Race Champion" plate at the end......funny.

Sure you can copy and paste a pdf file. Just go to the "text select" tool, which looks like a capital "T," then highlight and copy to your little heart's content. I can't access the site from work, either, or I'd just do it for you here.

The last newsletter I wrote covered Daytona and Orlando. I am going
to quickly bring everyone up to date on what happened since then,
and then talk about Vegas. Detroit; I won. Houston; I won. Dallas; I
almost won, but a crash while leading put me back to sixth and I ended
up second. Seattle; I won in the slop. Now for Vegas.

I had a good weekend. After press day we went to the Road 2 Recovery Golf
Tournament to benefit Ernesto. I sponsored a team, but with press day in the
morning and a dealer signing in the afternoon I could not play, so we auctioned
off our 4 spots on Motonews.com. Motoworld Yamaha’s Paul Lindsay won the
auction bidding for a fan and his family. The auction brought in $2,000 that also
went to help Ernie and the Road 2 Recovery. I met the winners, and each got a
signed jersey before they went out to play.

When I got to the semi for practice my team had a surprise. For Vegas the
team had made the bike really trick with a black frame, swingarm, wheels,
and some one off plastic. It looked awesome. There was so much
excitement in the air. I had just signed on with Kawasaki again, and the
President of Kawasaki Motors USA was there, as well as our boss over
racing from Japan here in the U.S.

Practice was good, my KX 450 was working great, and I posted the fastest times
of the day. The fans were really cool to me all weekend, at the track, at the hotel,
everywhere I ran into anyone it seemed they were encouraging me. The
autograph line was huge, and fans that did not have autograph tickets shouted
out to me from behind the fans getting autographs.

I won my heat race after a short battle with Chad. That was my 18 th heat
race win in a row. The perfect heat race season. I was told that’s never
been done before. We had a tough time on the green team for injuries
in Vegas. Langston was hurt on press day, Byrner got hurt in practice, and
Gosselar was injured while challenging for the lead in the Lites main. I
watched the Lites main in staging and saw a lot of carnage going on out there. I
started to get nervous. I knew I needed a good start, and sat on the line just
trying to visualize the start. When the gate dropped I knew I had a start. I pulled
the holeshot and started to put in smooth consistent laps. I could hear the crowd
cheering and knew there was some good racing going on behind me. The race
seemed to last forever, but finally the checkers fell and I became the World Supercross
GP Champion. RC was the AMA Champion, it was cool because we were both happy
for one another. We even took a bow together for the crowd.

I had won 10 out of 18 races, won 18 out of 18 heat races, won the World Supercross
crown, and missed the AMA title by 2 points. What a season. At the Live Nation
awards banquet both RC and I got a bit emotional during our acceptance speeches.
RC felt great to win his 18th title as he starts to wind it down, and I totally respect
and congratulate him. For me it was really special to bounce back from last summer
and have such a good season and win a title. I got choked up thinking about all the
people who doubted me last summer, and most importantly the ones who stayed
behind me and never wavered. I want to shout out again to my family, my team
at Kawasaki, my agent David Evans, Beeker from Fox, Anthony Paggio at Oakley,
my friend Jehrrod, Dane from Red Bull, Damion at Boost Mobile, Holly from Mattel,
Mitch at Pro Circuit, and all the fans who believed in me. Another cool thing that
happened at the banquet was that Kawasaki won team of the year. Everyone there
works really hard. We have a new team manager, Mike Fisher, and he really focused
on dialing in our brand new 450. For anyone interested, you can see pics of the
banquet at http://www.supercross.cc.com
.
I am going into the outdoor season strong and confident. My bike is awesome
(and it’s a 450) and I feel like I have a good chance at winning my first outdoor
premier class title. It will be good for the fans, just like the Supercross season
has been, that’s for sure. I’ll share a cool story to wrap this up. I was
leaving the banquet with Brianna, David, and his wife, when we stopped by
the high stakes slots. I took out a hundred and we all agreed to pull the lever
once, each bet was $25.00. David’s wife Jeannine pulled the last
bet and we hit for $1,500.00. What a way to end the perfect weekend.
.
Well I am testing this week for Hangtown. I’ll update the newsletter after the first
couple of rounds. Thanks for reading my newsletter,

I’ll see you outside.
