what happened to Milsaps, running 3rd in the 2nd moto now i see he finished 30th??

Posted by: OldassKDX---------------------

Okie, I'm ashamed! What about my hometown hero Villipoto pulling within 7 points in the lites (man I hate fahionable misspellings) class? And how about Hepler coming back for a solid 2nd? The 450 class may be boring right now, but I like seeing Ferry picking it back up and seeing a privateer at 3rd in the standings. C'mon Bubba, the sport needs you!

Posted by: TheGrinch---------------------

Villipoto had a good day.

Looks like Reed wasn't too far behind RC. 24 seconds behind in Moto 1 & under 11 seconds in Moto 2. Milsaps was over 1:14 behind in Moto 1 & Windham was over 1:20 behind in Moto 2.

Good to see RC didn't back off just because James wasn't riding. Quote from RC taken from Racer X:
"Yeah, I was digging pretty hard. I was riding like James was in there, because he’ll be back at the next race. Reed always rides this track well though. He was on it for sure.”

If true, what should the penalty be?? I say out for the remainder of the season, if true..

Alessi's ridiculous competitive spirit must be rubbing off on his mechanic now. I read that as well at Racer X. Id like to actually see what happened with the crash and what happened with the pit board bashing. It is pretty funny though. Who does that?????

Posted by: robwbright---------------------

How bad does the rest of the field suck. James is still in 8th in the points with what, 3 DNF motos. Or is it 4? I can't keep track.

Posted by: Vic---------------------

Hmmm. The glorious GOAT already has quite a points lead.

That other red-headed kid is pretty impressive, too.

The quote:

Oddly, as Villopoto came by Alessi’s mechanic actually struck him with his pit board. On the following lap, said KTM mechanic stood by the edge of the track with his arms spread out gesturing towards the new leader in a taunting fashion.

Posted by: Vic---------------------

If that's true, the guy should be fired immediately.

Posted by: jsned---------------------

Didnt Alessis mechanic hit someone a couple of years ago, in a national?? I remember something like that happening, but I cant remember if it was Alessis mechanic or not.

Somebody here has to know.

Posted by: jsned---------------------

Found it. Rusty Holland was hit by Alless's mechanic. I couldnt find out if it was the same guy though.

Found it under the thread "beleive the hype"

Posted by: AJ Waggoner---------------------

Heres a vid -
yea a couple of years ago-
of Rusty Holland throwing the pit board he got in his lap,
at Alessi - all during the moto..

funny stuff!

Posted by: tony91---------------------

Alessi's camp was asking for Villopoto to be DQ'd because of the contact. They are an interesting/entertaining bunch!

...
.
Reeds not bad, only 20 points back. CR has stepped up his outdoors game, not enough to challenge RC or JS, but enough that there is a HUGE margin of lag time between them and the other 37 other guys racing. Reed rode strong in moto2, giving way to RC about lap 3or4. I would count over a minute gap after Reed went by before I would see Millsaps in 3rd. I only point this out because alot of people piss all over Reedy, but he smokes everyone else out there as well, just cant catch the GOAT or JBS.
I think Davi crashed or something, Kdub inherited 3rd around 9th lap or so. Hot day, would've like to have seen JBS there that day but RC was running strong.
.
Villopoto put on a strong charge in moto 2 to pass buy Alessi, seemed as though his bike was running awesome, he charged up hills faster, at least it seemed that way....
.
They were promoting MXDN 07 big time there, cleaned up some of the tunnels, should be an awesome time.

When Talking Too Rc Yesterday,i Ask Him If He Was Coming Back Next Year To Budds Creek,he Said Yes.so Then I Ask If He Was Racing The 07 Mxdn At Budds, He Said I Would Not Miss That Race For Anything.

Posted by: xcracer725---------------------

Chad Reed is the man! well sorta i dont care if he cant challenge RC or JS but hes def. nice

.
.
Yeah, I thought the same thing, that if he was in Semi-retirement, he would definately represent the US if he can and would still KICK ass.. I heard that they already have started tearing out trees to make room for more parking.
.
as of Reed, Yeah he says some stupid stuff and MX might not be his cup of tea, but he definately works hard at it. I think there may still be some good races to come once JBS get back on the track.
.
Still, the gap from the those 3 to the rest of the field is mind boggling. Then the gap that RC usually does blows my head off.

Posted by: dirt bike dave---------------------

If RC catches a bad break, Reed will be right there to take over the lead.

Reed really is riding very well. He certainly has outdoor skills. I hope he sticks with MX a few more years before he goes SX full time.

That would be interesting. Should RC even be considered for the team in 07 as a part time racer? It would certainly stir some debate.

Posted by: dirt bike dave---------------------

IMO, until someone beats him on the track, RC is more than welcome on Team USA.

Plus there is a history of old semi-retired guys stepping up for the MXdN. For example, Hannah at Unadilla, winning the 125 class on a Suzuki.

RC will race part time in '07, but will probably win most of the races he enters. He is the best ever. And not just by a little bit.

Posted by: ben419---------------------

not by a little bit indeed. i'm kinda new to riding mx but by no means new to watching it. still everytime i sit down on sunday im absolutly amazed how fast rc makes that bike go without constantly going down.

Posted by: srnash42---------------------

if RC came back it would be amazing. i cannot wait until budds creek 07 and MxDn 07 im most def going to both.

I can't think of one person who wouldn't want him on the team............except for the euros!
