Does anyone know where i can find a cheap MX trailer or a hitch type hauler? And does anyone have a hitch type one?, how do you like it? Are the worth it or are they crap? Let me know what you think about this one?http://www.motorcycleramps.com/motorcycle-carrier.htm thanks for your help.

epay has some knock off ones (grady county carriers). they aren't too bad. just be careful when you tighten down the peg mounts because if they slip your bike can come off the carrier. i had that that happen but it was my fault for not tightening them down really tight. it used a bottle jack setup. the other problem with that type is that people will run into them when there isn't a bike on it because they can't judge the depth. after that happened i traded the suv in for a truck.

Harbor freight sells 4x8 trailer kits for a song. The only hassle is you'll have to go through the process of getting a title for a homebuilt trailer with one of them.

I have 1 called motojack rack. It works great but it takes a few minuts more than normal to load. It's small and stores easily and is well built (heavy). The one you posted the link to I think I may like better because it's easier to load.

I use the the motojackrack and really like it. I serves a few good purposes, It uses a bottle jack to lift the bike, so you can lock the pegs in and work on the bike at the track, pull wheels off whatever and the bike stays put. I have been using mine for 5 years now.
(I have only had to replace the bottle jack. $15 dollar replacement.)
Thats it. I love the thing. I make several long trips to races every year with not a single problem. I use supersprings to level my cherokee as a muddy bike plus the 5 gallon gas can weighs about 300lbs tongue weight. People walking by sometimes grab a pencil and measuring tape and draw up their own copy to weld up in their own shop!! The thing is bulletproof. One note of caution , after securing the footpegs with the provided pins make sure to put a strap from the handlebars to the rack thats all. Those tray style carriers dont function like a maintenance lift. and I wouldnt get one of those cheesy rip offs either. get the original!!!!!!!!!!!
The only thing I can think of is you should tie a flag on the end of the rack, your brake lights may be partially obscured, as with any bumper carrier....I have a nice trailer, and still use the rack most of the time.
spring for the optional gas can carrier, its a must. I lost on of the lock pins and they sent me one free the next day.

The new Dirt Rider mag has reviews of several hitch style haulers.

Anyone know of where I can get a trailer to fit 4 full size bikes and a couple of quads? I don't mind making it myself if I have an old Utility trailer but I don't know what size I would need to fit all of those. Is there anywhere in southern california where I can pick up used utility trailers?

I love my hitch hauler as well -- welded it up myself afer designing based on a friend's. If you need to haul more than one bike a trailer is the way to go. Just know that if you get one of the cheapies you definitely want to upgrade to some larger wheels since those little ones will end up burning up the wheel bearings in short order.

Re: 4x8' cheap trailer- See my lengthy thread at "4 place trailer Help" just above this post. If you do the mods I have, it can't be beat!

I have one like the one you posted and I like it. It just hangs up on the wall in the garage too, unlike a trailer wich is another thing to store.
It does take a few more minutes to load than it would with a trailer but it can easily be done by yourself in a few minutes.
