Yz 80 racing

can a yz80 compete with the 85's and perform well aginst them and possibly win.

Since there's only 5cc of difference, of course. Since 80's are older, u might have to put a little bit of maintence but that happens buying any used bike. Between an 85cc bike and an 80cc bike in the same condition, it will be about 99 percent rider and 1 percent bike, so i wouldn't worry about it.

I rode a 1994 yz80 for 4 years and got it in 2001 and was beating some 85's now I stepped up to a 2004 CRF250R.

the biggest difference would be the handling cause they are completely different chassis'

yes, it all comes down to the rider in that, my friend has an 85 yz and gets beat by a 80 yz who is only a little bit better, so yes
