Let's get some late August riding in. We've been discussiong this in the chapter forum and now the time to make it official!

I'll only be there for Saturday but sounds like Squeaky and Rooster want to come for the weekend.

You got that right! We'll be there for Friday early afternoon (no riding for us on Friday though...), ride all day Saturday, and probably half a day on Sunday!

Who's with us?!

Dave - you want me to make campground reservations? Or do you want to do it? Let's try for that spot we had last time - it was nice!

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

I'll be driving down Saturday morning so you're on your own Friday. You can call Red Ridge at (570) 384-4760. I liked the new spot they put us in too but they may have a differing opinion about us!

Posted by: dklink2000---------------------

We'll probably be there for the weekend.

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Okay - I'll call Red Ridge this afternoon and make the reservations...

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Well I meant to make the reservations yesterday - but I forgot. So, I made them today!

Red Ridge is all set for us for the 25th and 26th. We'll be in the site we were in last time. For those of you that weren't there and plan to attend this ride - once you enter the campground and go through the gate, the first set of sites on the left is where we'll be. It's basically a big grassy field with some trees thrown in.

So far, so good. Count me in.

Awesome!!!

Posted by: sick 96 250---------------------

I'm in, hopefully more people will be there to camp but if not oh well

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Corn cobs a roasting, on the open flame.
Hot mud steaming on my header pipe.

Repeated crashing of my RC plane.
Questionable fruits Trigger says are ripe.

My ears ringing from the dirt bike din
How can one resist? Count me in.

Posted by: sick 96 250---------------------

you def have to bring that plane again jason, that was some of the funniest crap i have ever seen, what was it, 3 nose dives then one solid run into a telephone pole!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Great Poem Jason!!!

We should start a list - so everyone post when you're camping/riding...and I'll add it to this list.

Squeaky & Rooster: Camping Friday & Saturday, Riding Saturday & 1/2 day Sunday.
RM-Guy: Camping Friday and Riding Saturday. (unless it's raining )
Sick 96 & Cody: Camping Friday, riding Saturday.
Treejumper Camping Friday, riding Saturday.
JasonJ: Camping Saturday, Riding Saturday & Sunday.
Dklink: (2) Camping Friday, Riding Saturday, Possible Saturday camping.

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Sorry, no camping but the "questionable fruits" does sounds interesting

Posted by: sick 96 250---------------------

Maybe I can swing this one. Planned on riding enduros on 8/12 and 8/20.

Say Nancy, I thought you were going to come up and ride with us this summer. What gives?

REALLY?!?!

Posted by: WoodsRider---------------------

We'll see. At $3/gallon for gas it's getting harder to justify driving 4 hours to go riding... racing is a different story.

4 hours...pffffffft....try driving 6 to 6 1/2 hours just to go riding!!!

It cost Rooster and I roughly $150 just in fuel in his truck last time...if it wasn't for that quarter jar we keep filling up we probably wouldn't have afforded that trip - or this one for that matter!

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

Count me in for this one. Camping friday and riding saturday.

Bummer! I was hoping to meet her!

She's obvoiusly afraid to meet us...not that I blame her...I mean, she probaly has a hard enough time dealing with Chucke and we're his buddies!

I have legal riding 45-minutes from my house.

Dave, still afraid of your wife?
How many of those doll shows has she drug you to?
I'd loan you a pair, but mine went through a little transformation this year.
Does anyone have a pair they can loan RM_guy?

I think he can mail-order a set, I've seen them advertised in the back of a recent motorcycle mag. Comes in different colors too!!!

I may possibly be able to make this one, will know for sure soon.

Just one so far this year. I'm trying to get her to go to more.

The best part is very few quads and no jeeps to make you go !

I'll be camping Friday unless it's raining. Then I'll just drive down Saturday morning and ride in the rain. Setting up and taking down a tent in the rain is not my idea of fun. Now riding in the rain is fun

Great! So...who else is in?!

Don't let Rooster see this post - he'd stay up and drink with you all night long!

Yeah Im trying to save a bit of money, plus, with as hot as it gets Im tired of being tired on the first ride. . I took a case of 16 oz ers with me figuring I would have a few to bring home. I had like 5 left after Friday night last time! Doooooh!
Is there any kiddy rides going on? Theres a 13 year old kid that's bugging me to take him up. I just got his bike running but I don't want to ride with him all weekend. Is that bad or does it just re-affirm why I dont have kids?

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Well, if Woodsrider shows up you may be in luck. I just hope he can keep up with the 13 year old

Jason, I don't think anyone's riding Friday, just camping. Does that change your mind?

We're not riding Friday - we'll probably be at Red Ridge around 3 p.m., just like we did in June.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

No I was not going to come up Friday. Im less than 2 hours away so it's no big deal to drive up Sat AM. Probly take me longer to get up, pack up, and get to Paragon if I camped there LOL!
I think the plane is out this time and the guitars are in right?
I think Ill tell the new kid he will have to get up there another time . The kid has been staking out my house for a week now hawking me for his bike, Im kinda sick of him anyway Woodsy Will just have to find another group of Eton brats to tag along with.

Ah i forgot about the guitars, I know my buddy would like to chill and play but we will prob be gone by Sat night like usual. Either way you should still bring the plane, everyone could always use a good laugh

Dude, I packed up his bikes and dropped them off in this 100+ degree heat and he has called me twice in the last hour! Im not even awnsering my phone or door! Im just trying to get some work done today! Man. I dont know how you guys with kids do it.

Ok, no guitar, Ill fix up the plane for some stunt flying.

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Dklink - you said you guys may be there for the weekend?

Do you know if you'll be camping? I'm just trying to get a rough head count if I can...

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Okay guys it's only 3 weeks away! I'm getting pumped (I just love Paragon!!!)

Posted by: dklink2000---------------------

Hey sorry for not posting sooner, had to check the work schedule.

Looks like 2 for camping friday, riding Sat. for sure.

Me too but the heat is OK. I rode for a couple of hours last Wednesday in 99 degrees with 95% humidity. I ended up having to tow by buddy's bike out of the woods. It' sa 300 lb DR350. Man, my bike was quite the tractor if I do say so myself

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Well then that's pretty warm!

Riding when it's WICKED hot out isn't too bad - as long as you keep hydrated and take breaks. Rooster, PK, and I have ridden in some crazy humidity the past couple of weekends and we all survived it!

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

What's riding? An who is this WICKED person?

Posted by: dklink2000---------------------

sick,
Sure, I don't know when we are going up. I was thinking of taking a half day at work.

Posted by: sick 96 250---------------------

i will be taking off and so will my buddy so anytime is pretty good, just let me know, its no big deal if we follow eachother up or not.

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

2 Weeks!!!

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

I'm really looking forward to this...

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

I was looking forward to it till I realized it was the weekend of the Beehive Enduro Now Im not sure. I might be doing a lot of driving and going to Paragon Sat then south jersey for the race on Sun.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Just thought I'd mention that I'm going to be selling my Street legal 2005 CRF 450X if any of you are interested I will be riding it that weekend. She has served me well but I bought a new bike and don't need two.

Posted by: Trigger1911---------------------

I hope you make it. I would really like to know how you got that bike titled in PA.

Hey Mike. I hope you can camp over Friday night with us and ride Saturday. I missed out on your antics during the Spring ride!

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Just buy the bike it's a whole lot easier then explaining it. Very long story and took a lot of doing. In the end it was worth it but I don't need two.

Posted by: Trigger1911---------------------

I may camp friday but I wont be riding saturday, I have an 18 hour shift that day thru sunday morning.

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

1 week!

I haven't ridden in a few weeks due to us moving into a new place - it's going to be great!

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

Me too! I just need to find where i put all the bike peices.

Put it this way Sam, the biggest chunk of the bike is the frame with a motor in it. I've got some work to do this weekend if i'm riding.

I can't make it this weekend. My wife is flying to Chicago to visit her Dad, so I have to be Mr. Mom.

Have fun.

Well that's not good!!! We'll miss you but don't worry, we'll still have tons of fun

Posted by: sick 96 250---------------------

looks like i will be getting there Sat morning for the ride and camping sat night cause my moron of a friend decided the past month or so he wasnt going to go into his night job on occasion so he cant get off fri now, maybe i'll just leave his a** home for this one

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Leave him home. He sleeps in too late anyway and we never get to ride at a decent time.

What time is anyone getting to the campground Friday? I may take Friday off from work and get there early enough to relax but I'd rather not relax by myself. I'm not very good company!

Let's try to get on the trail by 9:30 Saturday morning. I want as much time riding as possible. We can leave in two groups if that works better. What do you guys think?

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

Dave, I get done with work around 1 or 2 on friday and takes about 3 hours to get there. So i hope to arrive before 5pm.

We should be there by roughly 3 p.m. on Friday Dave - so take the day off and enjoy some Friday afternoon relaxing with us!!

Rooster and I will definitely be up for hitting the trails early - we could even do earlier than 9:30! Last time, on Sunday, we were on the trails for 9 a.m.

Gary - Roo says get your punk a$$ there!!

And Sick - leave the non-worker home! Join us on Friday!

Posted by: sick 96 250---------------------

HAHA yeah trust me it has crossed my mind to leave his butt home but we really dont get out much around our way to ride and if I did that I wouldnt hear the end of it for a long time. Plus this also means I wont be hungover at all for the SAT ride and that means I can actually relax after riding and throw a few down instead of heading back like usual. We'll see what happens, maybe he can pull something off and still get out of work but either way I will be riding SAT and will be there by 9am, with or without him!!!!

You old guys are too funny. Your the ones that start back to school sales 2 weeks earlier every year, push X mas goods up to before Thanksgiving, and throw your trees out with everything on them on Dec 26, etc. Why would you push your ride time up by only 30 mins when you all pack up and are out of the park by 3:30 PM anyway? . The park "closes" at 5 and I dont think I have ever seen you guys ride past 4. And dont blame it on your bed time cause we ARE keeping you up past 10 sat night since both Sic and his boy and me are camping Sat night now .
Man I need this ride, Im starting to get snippy!

Posted by: sick 96 250---------------------

yeah SAT night should be interesting since i wont be riding Sunday, which means a few extra burrs can be put down

No, no, no silly silly man that's PK and his crew! We both have the day off and will be up and out the door by 9 a.m.!!!

Cool, I forgot PK can't make it. My wife is making some chicken Speedies for me to share. It's marinated meat that is unique to the Binghamton area. I'm bringing some firewood with me this time. $5 for a milk crate of wood was kinda steep!

Rooster and I will be there around 3 p.m. on Friday.

PK's farm opens that weekend - so he has to work the Korn maze

Posted by: sick 96 250---------------------

Dk, it doesnt look like I will make it up friday like I planned because my buddy who is coming up with me is a moron and cant get off work because he decided this month he was going to miss a few extra days. Its still up in the air but I may just leave his butt home for the weekend. If I dont make it Friday then I will be there SAT morning to ride and camp Sat night. We'll see what happens though.

Oh yeah, any one up for Leave it to BEAVER's SAT night possibly, haha

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Has anyone heard from Scooter? He told me he was going to come to this ride but I haven't heard back from him.

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

Nope, Not going to make this one. How about a mid November ride? I'll be ready for a good romp by then!

Here's where I'll be this weekend:

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Hey guys looks like my other plans for the wekend fell through so I told my GF I'll just have to go riding this weekend. Tuff break for me ha? See you all there, I'll be camping at the comfort Inn. Is anyone else staying there? Can't wait to put some more miles on the new bike, it sure is sweet.

Looks like you may be all alone on that one - I think...

Besides, what kind of dirtbiker stays in a hotel?!

Not to jinx it or anything, but has anyone seen the forecast?

It's going to be nice!

Novemeber? Sounds possible. Peggy is dying to meet you nuts but she's a house plant when it comes to the cold.

The maze looks good Keith! Its pretty cool to know what is what and where they are in the pictures since i got the tour of the place last year. Have fun with the tourist while we ride.

I'm trying to figure out which picture you'll be in. I can imagine you totally lost in the maze but at the same time I can see you drifting into that funcky painting

I've been checking it out every hour. I can live with 30% chance of scattered T'storms

Great! We are going to try and get an earlier start...see ya there!

Looking forward to it and giving the new bike a good work-out.

The old and busted kind like me Squeek!

Not sure if I can get away this weekend, but will try for one day out of three at least.

I've been kind busy riding my new 03' Heritage Springer on these nice sunny weekends.... (see attached)

I'll try and get up there this weekend though. I'm missing the woods and broken bones.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Nice, has it started leaking anyting yet? . Hey, you could always pull your trailer with it!

Well - I don't technically sleep on the ground either, I use an air mattress

you should swing by the campfire for some bench racing at least...

One more day to survive at work - and then freedom! I'm so excited I've already packed up all of my non-moto clothing for the weekend and I'm ready to rock! Just have to clean my air filter and pick up some oil and water and we should be good to go!

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

I have everything stacked up in my garage plus a wheel barrel of wood ready to throw in the back of the truck. I should be to the campground by 3:30.

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

If you want to speed up the registration process you can sign up for riding on Saturday anytime on Friday afternoon. I call Paragon and they have no problem. It's always such a pain waiting in line and this should save some vital riding time. I driving right past there anyway on the way to Redridge so what the heck?

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Or we could just get up earlier ...

They do open at 8 a.m.!

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

damn you all!

Have fun. Ride carefully

Yeah, yeah, yeah...There will still be a line to wait in. You go ahead and wait in line while I relax and leisurely get ready to ride

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

and then proceed to ride leasurely

Oh, I didn't tell you? I'm going to a fly in this weekend.
Mornings are for mazes, afternoons are for flying

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Sorry, it's getting late in the day and I've got no good comeback It's already past 1:30 and I have to start slowing down for the day.

couldnt get attachment to work, but your maze looks more like somebody drove a truck across the field.

And this is better than riding dirtbikes how???

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

It's not

I"m just trying to make myself feel better about not going

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Keith, Why don't you load your bike on the plane and fly it in? We'll make room in the parling lot

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

because, right now this is what my plane looks like.

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Oh I see, your driving to the fly in

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

Well I'm leaving work now...see you guys Friday!!! (Saturday for those not camping)

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

yes. . . driving to the fly in

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Just checked WEATHER and it isn't looking so good for the weekend. Hate to be the one with the bad news. I'll be showing up either way but sure do prefer dry riding over wet. Tends to get a little slippery in the rocks when you add water. Sucks for you guys in the camp ground too, Squeaky what did you ask about hotel camping? That's a big reason why I do it! Sucks to deal with all that wet gear when you get home.

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Well we're off - see you guys in a few hours!!!

Posted by: dklink2000---------------------

Yeah, keeping my fingers crossed. Figures though, it hasn't rained in these parts in about two weeks.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Man I spent all night last night emptying my van off all the crap thats been put in it since I went riding last. I spent all day working on it to fix all the stuff that has broken on it, and all night trying to load it up with all my stuff to ride. Its Friday night and Im already beat! But , its all together so Ill be heading out in the AM. See you all Sat.
JG

Posted by: sick 96 250---------------------

well at least your loaded up, i'm waking at 6am to try and load everything up and be out the door and on the road by 7:30am. I just got news that a friends of my buddy and I passed away so this was almost a no go but its prob the only thing that will get our minds off it till the week with the funeral and all. Well see yall tomorrow morning

Posted by: sick 96 250---------------------

well it looks like we're calling this one off, at least I am for the time being. With losing a friend on thursday night I figured this would help out a little to get our minds off things but it looks like its going to be cold and sh!tty weather so I dont see us making it up there. Its still a possibility though just may get there later. SO we'll see I guess

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

Sorry to read about your friends passing. Paragon will be there when you're ready for it. Maybe you'll be ready for a fall ride in November?

Yeah def be ready for a fall ride, I may even go up next weekend just to get some riding in, havent rode since last trip to paragon cause I been working so much and theres no where to ride around me anymore.

CO, Nah his name wasnt Rich, His name was Frank, i'm still not sure what happened, he was my age 25, and he passed away in his sleep. He doesnt do any drugs or anything so its kinda odd. He was a great sports player as well ao who knows. Sorry to hear about your co-worker as well. This is the 5th person I know who has passed away in the past year that I grew up with, not to sure what is going on with all this

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Sorry to here about your bud Sic and CO. Ill be up at least one day over labor day weekend so maybe we can hook up?
Got home safe Sunday Morning. Great day of riding Sat but no one to ride with Sunday. Gordon did show up to let me know he was bagging it, LOL, somthing about going home to fix his KTMs computer issed: .
Ill save my detailed report for the ride report unless they just move this thread.

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Sorry Gary and Sick to hear about the passings - such terrible news.

A great weekend even with all the rain - we're home now and will post more later!

Posted by: brpray---------------------

Hi Guys,

Just to say that the Long Island crew got home safe, and with a great day of riding who could ask for more. Me, just would have loved to have seen Mike do the mud dive.
Had a great ride myself with the KTM doing everything i asked it to do.

Ray

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Had a great time as usual with all you guys and certainly can't complain about my campground accommodations. Had a really good time giving the new bike all I could take, cause I know it wanted more. Dave, Jason and Ray thanks for the awesome company. Looks like I'm going again this Thursay if anyone is interested.

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

Naa, Ill be up this week end with my girl for some easy trail riding.
Left to right, Bpray, NRB, RM guy, Squeek and Rooo. On Sunday, you could not even see the office trailer from this same spot!

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

Made it home saturday night just before the rain kicked in. It never stopped til late last night. I wondered how many people stayed to ride sunday, doesnt look like there was many takers.

Posted by: RM_guy---------------------

That was a fun ride but I was blinded by rain and mud most of the time. The fog was a pain too.

I have to give it up to CRFguy. He rocked on that KTM of his (with the steering stabilizer...I think it had a stabilizer on it, I must have heard about it TEN THOUSAND TIMES!!!) His 65 mph jaunts down the trail lost me

I'm glad everyone made it home OK. Sick, sorry about the loss of your friend, we missed ya but understand.

...and where the heck was dklink? He missed out on the speedies! ..and the complete downpour Friday night. Cripes it feaking poured!!

Posted by: sick 96 250---------------------

did you guys get hit with major storms friday night while camping out? I know i got woke up at about 4:30am here with thunder that was shaking my house apart, high winds, and lightning that was just insane. All I could think about was imagine if I did make it up friday night like planned and had to deal with this stuff. I was crappin my pants indoors thinking my house was going to either fall apart or go up in flames from a lightning strike.

Posted by: DaveRS575---------------------

wow... sounds like regardless of the weather, a bunch of you made it out and had some fun.

It looks like I may be coming up this upcoming weekend (Labor Day weekend) for some fun in the sun.

Let me know if any of you are interested~!

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Hey Dave I'll be there for the weekend myself when are you planning on going. I was planning on Friday morning and staying through Sunday. I might try and hook up with Jason and ride somewhere other then Paragon as well. Jason you up for a day without the GF for a ride outside Paragon? if not the whole day maybe say half.

Posted by: CRFGuy---------------------

Hey Did i mention the new steering stabilizer kicks ass? Oh yeah I seemed to have fixed the computer also. Looks like it was a bad ground in the wire harness

Uhh, yeah, it freaking poured!!! The funny thing was, we were sitting around the fire watching the lightning storm off in the distance and if you looked straight up you could see the stars. I covered my tent with a big tarp and went to bed at around 11 and around 11:30 it started. At least it stopped by morning.

I was crappin my pants in my tent I slept through the first round of storms but woke up around 1:30 a.m. right when the second round of storms started to roll through - and I believe I wouldn't have slept until that storm was over except the rain lulled me back to sleep!

Looks like the weather from the south will be moving in sometime late Saturday night. Looks like it might be bad by sunday but I'm still going Friday and staying through the weekend unless the weather turns bad.

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

I posted a ride report from this weekend here: http://dirtrider.net/forums3/showth...273#post1096273

It's relatively long...

Posted by: DaveRS575---------------------

( The wife just reminded me that we have "plans" for this weekend.. grrrrrrrr.... Can't come out Looks like crappy weather anyway, but I am too tired of not rideing, so maybe the following weeend! dag-nebbiit!!!!!

Posted by: JasonJ---------------------

What a bum you are Dave. Ill probably be up Sat with my girl on the Bonner side. She has off Friday so we should get an early start Sat AM, ride, and head home. We have tickets for Godsmack with Rob Zombie and Shine Down at the E center for Sunday and want to hit the Allentown fair Monday.
Oh BTW, you know how I feel about weather pre dickt ions that are more than 24 hours away

Damn you...they'll be here Thursday - but I have classes on Thursday nights

Posted by: dklink2000---------------------

Man, looks like we missed some bad weather. Work flared up on Friday so there was no getting out at the time I wanted, then some family responsibilites kept us home for the weekend. On top of that, all those storm Friday night took out our computer and work started blocking DRN! On the bright side, I'm posting this on a shiny new MAC! Yep, I'm on a 4 stroke and have a MAC!!! I havemoved to the REALLY dark side!!

So when is this fall ride????

Posted by: njdrtrdr---------------------

Looks like you guys had a great time, I haven't been able to join a group ride since our trail maintenance last November.
I was actually there Saturday and saw RM-Guys truck. it was a last minute decision (Fri night) to go up. I went with a buddy and his 14 yr old son who's pretty much learning to ride. So we took it easy most of the day. I got a little disoriented until I realized they moved trail 11.....LOL and also found some fresh cut single track that was pretty fun.

Hope to meet up with you guys next time, but I'll probably be out of riding til next year. I'm getting ready to schedule some hand surgeries.

Nick
