I feel like I am trespassing...I spend most of my time in the Michigan Trail Riders forum, but I am looking to gather some information on Family/youth enduros. Do you have these types of events on the East coast?
In Michigan we have five events that are run on Saturday before the District enduro on Sunday. These events range from 30-50 miles (sometimes two loops). We have a buddy class for the kids who can not keep it on two wheels yet and a number of classes for those from age 4 to 64 (my dad). The events include secret checks and we have a speed change from 12 mph to 18 to test the timekeeping and riding ability of the riders. Each event has between 100-200 participants and it is great fun!
Let me know if you have these types of events in your district. If so, let me know the format (or where I can find more information).
Thanks,
Mike
P.S. I am going back to MTR now....

Wish we did. I'm not aware of any type of riding clubs that you MI rider have...anywhere.

Check with WoodsRider. He's told me about youth events that he has helped organize.

I have sent an email to Woodsrider. Thanks for the advice.

Check http://www.netra.org/ web site. There are some "nervous novice" events, as well as some youth events.

Woodsrider and I have been talking by email. I could not get a lot of information from the NETRA website without becoming a member, but my file is growing.
Thanks for the help.
