Yeah i have been having problems starting my DRZ400E. I tried jumping it and it would turn over but not start all the way. I also tried charging the battery and that hasnt helped either. Im wondering if the plugs are fouled and if they are how to get to them. thanks for any help.

I had some problems like that and replaced the battery. For some reason, those 03 DRZ 400's had some crap batteries. When they go, they crap the whole bike out. Also replace the plug. Charging those batteries kills them. Look at the side of the battery and it says how much charge they can take. It aint much. I think I killed mine on a typical 5 amp chrager for a day!

thanks for the tip about the spark plug and the battery i just put a new one in though in like july. My dad had bought a 12 volt battery charger and it would charge to like 46 percent and then stop. I tried to start it but it only like clicked a couple times. I plugged it back up to the charger and it had lost half its charge.

My DRZ400E sat for one year. Battery was dead so I replaced. Now turns over great but will not start. Do you think there's a problem with the plug? Would old gas cause a problem? Help.

Old gas will eventually cause deposits that plug the pilot jet (low speed jet) and keep it from starting. It's very common when bikes sit for extended periods.

Thanks. I tried again the next morning and it actually fired up! I guess what ever was clogging it up finally broke loose. I let it idle for a while and then took it around the block a few times. It's running great now.
