"I don't know"

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: BSWIFT---------------------

Do you not know if you are male or female?
Do you not know if you are in the USA or South Africa?
Do you not know when you were born?
There is a need for everyone to be concerned with their safety when posting information on the internet but grow a pair! You don't have to give your address or directions to your house, PO Box or phone number but you CAN give some relative information AND maintain your safety. I mean, even Ivan says he lives in a van down by the river.
Folks sign up on DRN and pick a screen name and put "I don't know" for all of the other info. Then, you see some real good posts and some pretty dumb posts and we have to rely on Rich to slap their hand with a ruler. At least be creative:
Q. Where are you from?
A. State of denial.
Q. When were you born?
A. I don't remember, I was pretty young then.
Q. Are you Male or Female?
A. My name is Pat, er, I mean, Terry or is that Terri?

Well, I guess you could say that. My wife has said, "I don't know" so many times today and then I read the posts and see, "I don't know" for where people live. Just seemed like a good way to vent!

But what if we move so much we really don't know?

What if I was inebriated when I signed up? I don't know if I was or not, but I don't know If I chose "I don't know for everything either". Anyway, it's time for another beverage designed for persons over the age of 21 in the United States.

Maybe you should let Mr. Russell setup an account. You could take pride in the fact that even he knows where he lives.

PS - His post was better than some I've read here, even if he did look like he was snoozing toward the end.

My personal favorites are the ones that ask for places to ride, then keep their location a secret.

Or is it a joke I don't get??

If someone joined while in the same condition as are good bud, SFC Crash, I'll accept that.

It is a Miss Russell.

In all honesty, I have indicated my location in a manner that helps keep the stupid people from finding me. That being said, I have also moved since. I do still own the house though, so it's OK. Of course, if I were to ask for ride location recommendations or riding partners, I would provide the location in the post (and probably the subject line). This is a useful technique because if I need to know where I can go for a good ride, I'm probably going to a new place that is not near home. I like to think call this method of thinking "common sense".

Nope, just that they will look and see nothing but a math problem.

HEY BSWIFT;

This is a forum. I am not sure if you know what a forum is, so I will tell you. This is a dirt bike forum. On a dirt bike forum you look for information on dirt bike related things and ask dirt bike related questions(unless otherwise stated).

It is none of your business to jab people who keep their location and other things to themselves. That is their business, If you really want to know something about someone you can private message them and ask. I am here to learn, not to find a date in my area.So why don't you mind your own business, or find something else to whine about.

Get a life, and grow a pair.

I guess when someone posts in the for sale forum that they want or need a part and I have it, shipping becomes irrelevent? What you may not know about this forum is that many members like me, have, and will continue to send items to people for the cost of shipping(if we know where). When someone wants a riding buddy, helps to know if your within say 1500 miles or 1.5 mega klics.
It is nice to see that you've read old posts but maybe you should read more of mine from say, 1999 on. Minding my own business is none or your business. Maybe you should have your "pair" removed, don't think there desirable.

Posted by: whenfoxforks-ruled---------------------

Using the knowledge of where you live for dating purposes, now that is a new one! UNBELIEVABLE, and yet? I have to agree with Bswift, drop your pair 250 girl! Who are you hiding from?

Posted by: truespode---------------------

I think 250girl needs a nap... she's being a bit whiny and cranky

BTW, Bswift is like a lot of us who see posts where people ask for help and/or parts and we sometimes offer our services.

I have met over 40 people b/c of DRN who I still ride with who if they never put their location in I would never have contacted them about getting together to ride.

I have also sent countless parts here and there to people around the country.

Ivan

Posted by: Patman---------------------

250girl you seem to be like so many these days. Those that wish to only TAKE and not give anything. You WANT information but did you consider perhaps the information might be location specific? I doubt it. Jetting advice, tire selection, fuel choice, even riding gear can be location driven. We all gon't live in the great white north and thus might be better off with leaner jetting, hard terrain tires, lighter or more airy gear, etc... Of course riding areas are location specific as well and knowing somebody in the area can be helpful for getting local info or even a ride together. Like many on DRN I have been all over the country and met up with many members of DRN. I have helped and benn helped with parts and tools sent and will continue to do so. Before you go making some half cocked judgement perhaps you should take some time to see what DRN is really about and then reflect on if you really want to go through live only being a taker. Most takers don't last long around here.

WOW! A little full of ourselves aren't we???

I have no doubt that BSWFT has a pair. (Don't know for sure but it would be a good guess.) Maybe you should grow up and get a clue.

Why would you think anyone on here would want to date you? Especially after what you have written.

When people like you come on here and ask questions like where to ride or what dealer to take your bike to and don't bother to put your location down, most of us don't even bother to answer the question. Then, these same people will come back in a few hours and say, "Why the hell hasn't my question been answered yet? I'm special and I need an answer right away".

You don't have list your address, only the general area you live in. This helps the rest of us answer your endlessly mindless questions even though we all have real lives to live. jobs to go to and businesses to run.

Maybe you should get over yourself and come back when you are in a better mood.

Just a suggestion.

indeed it does.

Since I put my location on the site I've received all kinds of help from my fellow denizens of Planet Hillbilly!

We may have to give her a break Pred. After all, she's from Canada.

I would! I hear the crazies are a blast!!

Ok... that was unfair and humor done solely at her expense... but she did post in the Flame Forum.

Just don't give her your addrress.

Posted by: oldguy---------------------

Dam and I have a womens CP sitting unused in the garage and she has been saying she needs gear so I figured I would offer it to her for shipping costs. But since she does not wish to let the black helicopters know where she lives I don't know where to send it to. (typed to the best grammatical and punctuated ability my finger can handle)

I'd date her, if my girlfriend would let me that is...

Posted by: 250girl---------------------

I have posted my location a few times when it has become relevant. But most of my posts have nothing to do with my location, and if they do, I state my location in the posts.

And you should give me a break, I mean after all, I am a canadian The brainfreeze really has affected me.

At least you are being a good sport

Down south we haven't had much brainfreeze and actually have gotten some riding in... I'm actually racing this weekend... whooo hooo!

This weekend, last weekend, 2 weeks before that (had a rainy one in between). It's been another mild winter this year, I have barely even worn a jacket.

Posted by: whenfoxforks-ruled---------------------

Oh yeah, now you gotta drag the winter into it!

Posted by: 250girl---------------------

I was just trying to make a point not a fight. As I said, if someone needs any info from me, you can PM me, my email addy is there too.

I think from now on I will steer clear of the flame forum, too much violence

How much riding do you do between May and September? Move north!

every weekend i don't work and some weeknights if i get out of work early. nothing like riding after work and having the whole 3000+acres to yourself.
sweat my butt off but im still riding belive it or not i am finally used to the heat. (working outside helps)

Posted by: Jaybird---------------------

I like to know who I am responding to.
Am I entering into a discussion with an adult, or a psychopathic, smart mouthed kid with lots to learn and very little to add?
I usually assume those who choose to omit their birth dates, yet add other very clever information, the latter.
I think they feel that their words and wise posts will show them older and wiser than their actual years, but as 250girl has shown, that is rarely the case.

I don't know if this makes sense to anyone, but it is very hard to get 5 lbs of beans out of a 1 lb bean bag.

Sounds funs, but I would rather head a few hours west. It's far too flat around here. I still ride almost every weekend (including January and August). Sometimes there is too much rain and/or mud, and occasionally other things take priority.

Posted by: sparkysakitas---------------------

here that, flat does get alittle boring

I am in a better mood now. I have learned my lesson, be respectful and watch what I say.

but seriously, I really should go to the doctor and see how much damage the brainfreeze has done

Oh, and one last thing....... I do not/will not ride a KDX,
