Go to Marzocchi's site and download a Shiver 45 fork manual. The manual describes how to set the oil level.

Remove cap from rod, remove spring, collapse forks, add oil till about 1" from top, pump rod to bleed air, add oil as needed to keep it about 1-2" from top. Once rod feels consistant and has damping in both directions using a syringe or turkey baster with a hose attached to suck the fluid level down to 90mm from the top with forks still completely collapsed. Thread cap on rod about 3 threads and extend forks to touch cap. Collapse tubes again and re-measure. You may have to remove alittle more fluid to get it to 90mm. I'm not sure if these have a bleed hole in the steel tube between the bushings?

90mm = 3.5433"

The KYB forks installed on your Yamaha are set up by measuring the height of the oil level inside the fork from the rim of the fork with the spring removed and the outertube fully compressed. There are tools available to help you get the level correct, most involve a syringe type scenario. If the manual mentioned above is not to your liking, please get a service manual for your machine.
