hi,i have got a 1996 cr 125with a hard rear suspension,it only has like 1 inch travel, have you seen this before, could the shock be shot,,thankx in advance for your help..bill

Some things you may want to consider. Has the shock suddenly become really hard? Have you just bought the bike and realised that the shock is very hard after riding it for the first time? A number of issues that might cause this, shock spring preload needs adjustment, suspension linkage seized, shock shaft bent. There could be other contributing factors, but I would investigate these issues first, especially the spring rate, preload, suspension settings and rear suspension mechanical condition.

I have a 94 cr125 and when I sit on it, it moves an inch. Haha. So I don't know the problem you have, maybe the set up? But I'm redo-ing my suspension this winter...Hope it goes well.

When was the last time the rear shock linkage was disassembled and cleaned? A friend of mine had a 96 with the same problem and we found out the linkage bearings were siezed. After the bearings were cleaned and lubed he had full travel. I'm willing to bet it's your linkage.
