I am looking at a YZ250 and SX250. I'm lookin for advice on what one to get.

1) your physical size (both height and weight are important)
I'm about 5'6'' (I'm a shorty ) and about 135

2) How physical / aggressive are you ?
I'm pretty aggressive.

3) what do you plan to ride- MX/SX tracks, woods, fields with friends or ?????

Some MX, woods, desert, some dunes

4) Do you have any riding experience?
Not too much

5) Do you think you will race ?
Yes

6) Are you mechanically inclined and will you be doing your own
bike work?
The local mechanic will do the work

7) Do YOU have a preferance to a brand/ motor choice (2 or 4 stroke)?
2 stroke all the way

8) Do you have a dealer close by your home that you might use and what brand(s) does he carry?
I have a KTM dealer and a YZ dealer

9) How much do you plan to spend on a bike?
$4,000-$5,000

10) anything else that you think would help form an opinion
I've heard the best stuff about these two bikes, so its between them. Also open to any other opinions.
Thanks

if you like ponies, the ktm flies but will lug too. i know somebody that is very effective with it in the woods. that power would be nice in dunes/dez too. either way, you really need suspension work done at your weight. there are tricks to help make the bike fit too. im 5 7" and with a little work on the sub frame and seat foam cutting, i can touch both feet no problem.

I ride a yz 125 and I love it, it is not heavy at all, the suspention is good , strong motor, exc... the KTM is suposed to have the strongest motor but I dont like the suspention. If I were you, I would go withe a yz125 becouse you are light, a 250 has alot of power and you might hurt yourself, or scare yourself... IDK thats your choice. The yz 250 is also a vary nice bike, its light and vary strong...

Yeah, I've heard a lot of how I would have to get suspencion work on it if I got one. Why is that?
I also might use that advice about the sub frame and seat foam. It's a good idea. Thanks.
