I was at the track this weekend and the overwhelming conversation was that the AMA was changing Amatuer classes to something like this:

Light: 84-144cc 2 or 4-stroke

Medium: 145-250cc 2 or 4-stroke

Heavy: 251cc and Up 2 or 4-stroke

??

do a search in the internet world that is old news, and yes it is true.

Old news. Thats been all over the internet for the past few weeks. Its even a headline on the AMA's website, so Id bet its true.

See here http://dirtrider.net/forums3/showthread.php?t=141421

(and it's 86 - 144cc, not 84 - 144)

so whats going to happen to the four strokes now that its a disadvantage to race them in the 125/250 classes? Do you think they'll ever go back to the old rules of this year?

There won't be any 4 strokes in the 125 class, and to average Joe Racer, the 250 2 stroke really isn't an advantage (if you don't believe me, go ride them back to back). There are guys who can take advantage of the additional power and quickness if the 250 2T, but most turn faster laps on the 250F. In other words, nothing will happen to the 4 strokes!
