I just recently bought a KX 250 and now i'm trying to figure out how to get both of my bikes to the track. I don't have a truck i have a mini-van. (Yes i said Mini-Van) i can only put the 85 in the van but i can't find a way to fasten it properly and it already fell and broke a window one time. So what should i do? Buy a Trailer? IF so what size should i go for that will hold a 85 and 250 nicely but not tooo expensive?

I have a 5 x 8 galvenized trailer that retails brand new at the dealer for $600. You can fit 3 bikes on it no problem, 4 if you're creative.

If you're worried about cost, call around to local shops and tracks, and ask if anyone has a used one. I just bought a really nice trailer for 3 bikes, for 200 bucks. Almost mint condition. It's just 3 rails, that tilt for loading, and then drop right into place as you push the bikes forward. Has lots of hook points for tow straps. As for the one inside your van, get a chock block type deal for the front wheel. If you don't want to mount it to the van floor, use a plank or piece of aluminum channel that is wide enough to provide stability. I once used tie downs to compress my suspension, and then used a 10' plank to back my bike into the back of my Montero. When you gotta ride, you gotta ride.

You would be well advised to check the sources mentioned in the earlier posts as well as: Cycle Trader, Penny SAver and Evil-Bay. (if you have the 1st two trade rags where you live)

I found a 3 rail trailer by Zieman locally on evil-bay. The seller used it 3 times... the trailer was manufactured less than one year prior to my buying it... And, I got it for only $450.

My brother inlaw has a mini-van too.... he uses one of those "joe haulers" that hold one bike on a rack that attaches to the hitch... There is not enough clearance IMO.

Have fun looking!

Ive got an old 2-place snowmobile trailer that I use to haul my bike. I bought it for $150. Hows that for inexpensive?
Now all Ive gotta do is install a wheel chock to hold the front tire steady and some eye bolts to tie it down to and Im all set.

I picked up a 3 rail for $75 a few years ago. I had to put a little paint on it and new tires. Everything including price of the trailer was around $225.

Why not make your own trailer, you can find a used axel, wheels, springs, ex.. for cheap, then make it mostly out of wood, might need some angle iron.

Way back in the day I bought my trailer from Kmart! It was only a 4 foot square frame but the rail went up the tung and hung over a little on the back. Its 25 years or so later and its still around, but has a 4 x 8 bed now.

I guess my point is it doesn't have to be the perfect trailer as long as it works. Try farm supply stores, the local paperput an add on the local motorcycle dealers board ect.
