So I'm new to this. I mean really NEW. This is my first bike. It starts pretty good when its cold. Once i ride it for a while. It gets really hard to start. Any advice?

Do you use the hotstart at all?

What do you have for jetting ?

^^^ Use the hot start lever/knob. Don't forget to shut it off the hot start once you get it started or your bike will run funny.

I have the 426, and when starting "DONT TOUCH THE THROTTLE!!When its warm use the hot start, but be ready to push it in as soon as it starts. Let me know if it helps?

If it's not as simple as using the hot start, you should check your valve clearances. They might be getting tight when the bike is hot, making it hard to start. Here's a link I posted on how to check the valve clearances on the YZ250F. There are also good instructions in the manual. Give yourself an hour for the first check, but once you get the hang of it, you can do it in about 20 minutes. You should do this every 10-15 hours, or if the bike is ever hard starting.

FYI it is an 03 bike, so there is no red knob on the carb for the hotstart. It is the lever on the bars, the short one
